Deep, fresh, unpacked snow. Idk if you want to call it bad tires but it seemed like the Jon and Don (hope I got your guys' names right) kept high centering on their skids

And as big Jay said, it was raining most the time.

More shit then I ever planned on doing
That road under the snow must've been rutted up pretty bad

maybe, couldn't really tell. When they high centered it was on snow. Eventually their tires dug down to the road but they were barely touching. Just burning rubber at that point.

It was raining all day and the snow just kept getting deeper. When we started having problems, the snow was probably around 12-14" deep. The snow was a little crusty / packed at the top from the rain. By the time we got 3/4 mile in, @Goobersbro and @Don5352 would have issues losing traction but mainly they would get high centered on the packed snow under their rigs.

So we spent a lot of time watching Jon do this:

But then had to do a lot of this:

    and this:

That was the furthest we got and you can see Jon's wheels free spinning.

Overall had a damn fun day. So when are we going again?

Treds and imitation MaxTrax were much used. Pictures didn't tell the whole story. You can see one under my rear tire in this shot.

I counted 8 in use at one point.

Had a great time. @Goobersbro winch got a workout getting through that last bad section before the intersection. 3 100' pulls off conveniently located trees. In the rain. Your winch line needs respooling, sir. Sorry 'bout that.

Can we call yesterday Slushpocalypse 2017?

Yes, we can. Since we were unable to get past 3500 feet of elevation due to previous snowfall. We needed to get above 5500 feet to get out of the rain.

Having no traction boards, I'm not one to talk. Anything is better than nothing in that situation. Kinda like a guy with no winch talking down on Smittybilt winches.

    I have a Smittybilt winch
