Got bored today (no more football) and decided to go up to MET and see how far up the snow is.
The entire road was closed, at the turnoff from Sly Park Rd !

Took a couple of stills with the dash cam:

We ended up going to Sportsman's Hall for lunch and went home.

Nope, I didn't watch the news. I was aware of the hwy50 closure but not MET.
There's an MET thread on Pirate that I checked on, but no mention of it there.

Oh well, it was a beautiful day for a drive in the mountains.

M.E.T was open. The road closure sign was to prevent people who were trying to get around the hwy50 closure. Ran into a Ranger who confirmed this. We got within 14 miles of hwy 88.FB_IMG_1486992701915.jpg

Its an historic building (former Pony Express station) in PP at the western end of town
on that main street ("Pony Express Trail"). Cool atmosphere, good service, popular.

Used to be well known for good food years ago, and I hadn't been there for 20 years.
However, by my standards, the lunch we had was just fair.

Maybe. If someone with a winch joins, I'll put more consideration towards it. @Fernando :boink:

I was supposed to go kayak fishing but the weather does not want to cooperate. So wheeling it is, lol. I may head a different way, if not I'll come along. Sunday will be snowing up there so go prepared to air down to at least 10psi or lower.

Going to go grab a portable compressor for airing back up. What way are you headed?
