So how far up did you guys make it on signal?

 

Definitely working on it, designs and measurements are in the works for sliders and plates. I wish bumpers were in my near future but dont have 3 grand laying around rn .

Anyone have some fab shops that aren’t crazy expensive, im from contra costa area so any bay area shop recommendations would be great

Also best trick I’ve learned in the last few years of semi-cold (rain/hail/snow) backpacking is pull your socks off halfway, so there is a big airpocket in front of your toes. No more chilly toes!

 

Easier said than done, especially on TW, but I try to live by the "buy once, cry once" motto when it comes to expensive hobbies.

 

Yea ive been wanting to go check BAMF out as to save money on bumper I’ll probably end up finding a design to give to them to make. The ones whove done this said it saved them a large chunk of change rather than buying a brand name.

I need to find a good metal distributer a couple ive talked to try to gouge the hell out of you

 

Alco Iron and Metal, Pleasanton Steel, and Tube Service are the places I go to. Alco Iron and Metal has the best pricing on full 8'x4' sheets, Pleasanton Steel is great if you need something custom ordered (in terms of dimension), and Tube Service will deliver to your house for cheap.

 

Bamf is running a sale right now, like 25% off I think

 

I dont think BAMF is the place to go if you want a custom bumper. He is probably way to busy for that. I could be wrong.
But there is a few shops in sac area that fo custom bumpers. Hot metal fab in rocklin now i think. And anther place thats on CL dose good work as well.

A little shy of the split where you take a left. Got hung up on some wet tree roots, pot holes. Didn't feel like winching.

 

Looks like I'm not going to be able to go wheeling on Sat. Chico, I promised a buddy that when his bumper came in I'd help him install. If we are able to get it in early enough we may still roll out, but that's a big maybe at the moment.
