I wasout of town last night. I recorded the race, and am watching now. Had to stay off Instagram and facebook, but I have no idea who wins.

I do not like the clock personally.

I'll post up here as the OP has tagged a few...and it says "Official"...

The clock thing is really a idiotic idea, IMO. Roc was out in the lead almost far enough to have had to run another lap, and the +1...so what if he took a massive header or blew the bike up while parading around by himself? Do the fans have to wait for him to push the bike over the start/finish?

Besides being a runaway race I was kind of disappointed not to see Webb or Forkner running higher position (but Forkner also took a dirt-dive). Pieck seemed to be running well on the Zook. Bad luck for Reed.

Too early in the season to tell how it'll boil down obviously.

Yeah i saw Forker take that fall, went right over the bars n got right back on! He was sitting pretty in 8th and that fall put him in 16th ,but he ended up in 8th. First race, nerves, rook, he will get it dialed in, kid is fast! It was cool in the pits i got to chill with the seven deuce deuce, Adam Enticknap. Cool guy, funny as all heck. He raps too, heres his rap on Subway!

Pretty pumped for ken. That lead was amazing and after about 4 laps and some space between the pack he was shedding a second or more so off his times. Lites was decent, can't remember anyone's names.anymore except Hansen and he had a get off in heat 1 that seemed to end the night for him.

I think it was Alessi that took that hit and that looked nasty. Happened right in front of us. Looked like he knocked out on the case and coasted to a fall. Good night of racing but it's just round 1 and it'll be interesting to see who gets on the box the next two rounds as I think that will set the tone for the season

Sweet, '17 has it's own thread.

OK, first off, I was wrong. Let me get that out of the way. KRoc ran the show pretty easily, which surprised me a bit. Not saying the whole season will go that way but I thought we would see a closer race, since everyone is still getting their bikes dialed in etc. That Honda looked to be really meshing with Kenny. Dungey didn't surprise me. he always has the 'live to fight another day' mentality. So we will see how that plays out as the season goes on. Webb was a bit timid. I expected him to come out fired up. He is human though and the jump to 450s is a big one. Hopefully he comes around.

As for the 250s, I am really high on JMart this year. I was hoping for a better showing, but the season is early. Good job by McElrath. He shocked me in the heat when he passed Martin. And then in the main he was on it. Plessinger looked good also. Looks like the Kawi guys aren't scared to battle. Both in the heat and main, they scrapped a bit.

Webb will loosen up and start riding I bet. I just hope he's not coming into his 1st season with the mentality of just finishing the races and not riding like everyone knows he has the ability to.

Yeah Kroc ran away with it for sure. Not sure what happened to Tomac, seemed to not be fully dialed in. Once again Anderson got around Seely! Yeah congrats to McElrath good for him. Felt bad for Trey, wanted to see him do well on that KTM, and what happened to Reed?

I agree. I don't think Webb is the type to ease into it. I think he was just a bit overwhelmed. I look for him to be back to his old self. he is going to have to get better starts though. Those back-to-front charges of his 250 days aren't going to happen in the stacked 450 field.

Supposedly Tomac's arms pumped up really bad. And Reed's water pump got smashed.

So...what does everyone else think about the "timed +1" race format vs. the lap format?

I think it is a little harder to keep track of the race. I liked the lap countdown, from the old way. That was very easy to gauge, if you were wanting someone to catch the leader or something. Otherwise, it isn't a big deal. Seems mainly just to be a consistency thing for tv purposes.

I just hate it because all forms of racing are X # of laps and you are done. Just because motocross does a countdown doesn't mean supercross has to do the same. The Monster Energy Supercross does not even recognize the existence of a outdoor series on any of there broadcasts.
For instance they were talking about how Roxzen has not lived up to his past contracts and has not won much (except those 2 outdoor titles).
