Was at the race Saturday night! Fortunate to have good seats at both Indy and St. Louis this year. The Reed incident was a bummer. What sucked was with only a 1.9 second gap or whatever it was, a Tomac mistake could have easily put Dungey right back in the fight. Both riders had strengths and weaknesses on that track but were worlds faster than the competition.

I will say in practice Barcia and Cooper looked quite fast but watching Eli throw down his fast lap looked insane! He scrubbed lower braked later and got outta the turns much faster. It was cool cause he really only went for it 1 lap and you knew it right away when he flew by

That is sick, dude. Glad you had fun. Great seats. And Eli likely would've still won, but as you said, RD was close enough to make it a battle. I don't think Eli looked as smooth this weekend, as he has in his other wins. I felt like that was a good chance for RD to maybe try to stop the bleeding but it was not to be. I'm rooting for Eli to win the title anyways (I was hoping he would from the start of the season, aside from the chance that Webb could be a contender). At least we have an interesting points race, this late in the season, so can't complain there haha.

Exactly. Basically what I was saying. People on twitter kept saying that Reed held a line and it's up to Dungey to get around him....no it isn't lol. This happened a year or so ago with Stewart getting in Musquin's way, in a similar fashion. Although not as intentional, obviously.

Yep I remember the Stewart/Musquin incident. i think this deal with Reed is on a whole other level though. Rule #2 is where Reed went wrong. He stayed in the fast line the whole time.

    You suck!

*EDIT* I had to stop reading and quote @Johnny DemonT on his seats.

Heres my $.02 on the blue flag deal.

We (our family) race karts. I have been a board member, track volunteer, flagger and race director (not all at the same time ofc) at our local kart track for quite a few years now. We have one flagger (that has a blue flag). He can only give that flag one time per lap. Typically drivers see it the first time. If they don't see it the second time, they are ignoring you. By the 3rd lap its the rolled black flag (serious warning), And by lap 4 they are pulled off the track. My point is this, i dont recall how many corner workers he passed with blue flags waving, but it was a bunch. To blatantly disregard a safety official after that many chances in the midst of a race is shameful (especially for a former multi-champ). I think a more serious penalty should be imposed rather then a 16th place (or whatever it was) finish and a few harsh words from competitors.

    MHO for what its worth.

Reed plays dirty if you mess with him. He's been like that. I just typed in supercross black flag and Reed pops up in something from 2015 with Canard, lol.

When a track has multiple lines, who is to say that x line is the "fast one"?

Reed 's move was wrong, but even after RD passed Reed, tomac still doubled the lead.

Its considered the primary racing line, but I get what your saying. Point is he continued to race as if RD was 17th, an absolute no fucks givin attitude. You can't have that shit happening on a race track, there is no "grey area" in the rules where the drivers/rider can make their own calls on the track, in that regard. Ppl die and shit doing this. Was it that serious, not this time, but one thing typically leads to the next.

*EDIT* Great fucking thread by the way! Glad i found it

Not cool Chad, not cool. Decoster probably had a lot to do with Chad being fined. But forget $5000 fine, he should be banned a couple races. I've been rooting heavy for the Frenchman MM25.

2.2 seconds is what RD lost. I mean you know its bad when Jeff Emig and Ralph were calling him out, and they even gave CR plenty of time before they really started in on him.

Glad the AMA stepped up and sent a message (not strong enough imo, what whatever).

    Agree 100%.

It was also funny when they asked RC about it and you could tell he didn't want to call out Reed, since they are boys haha. So he kept it really short.

Predictions for Seattle? Lot of tight 180s! Could either be techy or just pure sloppy mess as mentioned above haha!
