I think most UGA fans would agree with you on Sony in the NCG, as I do. Why on the earth did we keep trying to run between the tackles, with Chubb, against Bama blows my mind. I understand keeping the defense honest and calling a run up the middle here and there, but DAMN! :censored::rant::notsure:

I agree with both of you, Chubb might have had a bad night, but Sony put in work on the run game and had a hell of a first half.

Yes, Louisville was a top 3 rush defense in that bowl game, I believe.

Would have had a good whole game if they had just given him the ball. He touched the ball twice in the 4th quarter...0 times after the 10:30 mark I believe.

I will not deny for a second that I am glad he (Sony) didn't have much of a presence in he second half. I did say during the game that I wondered why GA wasn't running him but I'm glad they are not.

    Head unit. That's it.

MSU kind of exploited Bama up the middle. I'm guessing UGA was attempting the same?

Yeah... I think the NCAA is going to pull out the industrial backhoes to dig up all they can after that Olympic trainer guy got smashed. I think all Michigan State teams are going to get hit from the sounds of it.

I heard the director of the NCAA was told about the allegations several years ago and he just looked the other way.

Some folks are calling for the death penalty.

On a happier note, the NCAA is finally talking about doing away with the stupid rule of sitting out a year if you transfer.

On one hand I like the rule but on the other I don't. I think it should be based on reasoning for transfer. If its got something to do with family illnesses and being far away I like the rule to not make them sit out a year. If its someone like Bama had with Blake Barnett who, in my opinion, kinda pitched a fit because it was outplayed, then I think they should have to sit out a year. A third scenario would be like Jacob Eason...the only reason Fromm got his chance was due to Eason's injury. That scenario should be categorized with the first and shouldn't have to sit out. But, that one could end up being rather controversial in certain situations.

I don’t care about the reason. What’s the point in them having to waste a year? If coaches can leave just because they want to and get another job within a week, why can’t the kids?

I'm kinda w/ ya on that one. They only have at most 4 years, so missing one could really derail some serious potential money down the road.

I agree too, let em transfer. I felt the same way when I went to college. Sometimes I had thoughts that maybe I didn't make the right decision, but guess what...I was stuck. I had selected the scholarship at one school so it immediately removes the opportunities at the other schools. That's a huge decision that an 18 year old can make a mistake on and should be allowed to change, in my opinion.

The issue with open transfers for any reason basically has similarities of the snowflake mentality to me though. You have a player transfer because they don't want to work for a starting position or playing time. Allowing open transfers at any given time can open up a can of worms. Not to mention if they transfer every time something doesn't go their way can lead to a lot of hassle and headache that the NCAA has proven they don't like dealing with anything that causes them more work. IE; the Michigan State debacle.

you're absolutely correct, in my opinion I think if you're on scholarship you should be allowed to transfer but you don't get the scholarship at the next school. that's how it works academically. I know athletes bring in more money than the academic students (not always, but more often than not), but that doesn't mean they should be given free reign and the academic students be given nothing. All students going to a school benefits the school. If you're paying for your schooling, you should be allowed to do whatever the hell you want as far as transfer. Just my .02.

I just remember regretting sometimes the choice I had made (the safe close to home choice), but it was one I was stuck with because I couldn't afford another school without scholarship. Life just isn't fair, that's how it is. If we give these kids "unlimited money", meaning scholarships wherever whenever, then they learn nothing. They have to learn that their decisions matter. Now, making an incorrect decision like choosing the wrong school/scholarship, shouldn't be permanent...you should be allowed to go another route...but it should cost you. No scholarship for you!! (in the best soup nazi from Seinfeld impression I can do)

UAH is a top notch Engineering school. You should have no regrets in the education you received. College experience at UAH however, is not the best (which is part of the reason I only lasted a semester there).
