Official 2018 NCAA Football Thread

It was opening day of gun season though... So not all bad right?

 

I don't hunt... but it's a good football day for it.

 

Took a while but,

 

Why were y'all dressed like the Gators tonight?

 

I have no idea. I think it may have been the cameras.

Usually, Military appreciation day, the uni's' are purple.

 

I got a lot of shit from the guys who were at the house tonight. It looked like Florida blue on my screen. (I have YouTubeTV, 100mbps cable internet, and a Smansung OLED.)

I was glad to see that twitter was alive with complaints about the blue-look color of the Clemson unis. It wasn't just me!

 

The skycam on ESPN was more purple than blue. I had to check it myself.

 

We don't Twitter, but me and my 11 yr old son were not happy. I kept messing with him about the color (I knew better).

 

However, the Clemson colors are traditionally blue and orange. Some stories go back about Clemson getting second hand uni's from (hate to say) Aweburn. That's where the blue and orange comes in.

 

Huge Notre Dame fan but their uniforms from today need to burned, buried, and never replicated ever again. Their green ones from last game were terrible too.

 

No it's not.

 

Notre Dame is like a leach. Doesn't fit in anywhere, no conference, tries to fit in.

"Hey, we are playing in Yankee stadium, let's make our uni's look like Yankee uni's!"

Whoever approved that decision should be fired.

 

I wouldn’t say a leach they’re smart. Years and years ago they tried to to get into the western conference(now Big10). Michigan kept lobbying other schools to not vote for them to join, so Notre Dame said fuck it we will stay independent. The benefits for them being independent is they can play coast to coast and that helps greatly with recruiting. They don’t have to share bowl money or TV money and they have the freedom to schedule anyone. With a huge fan base like they have they will have no problem staying independent for years to come. But agreed on firing whom ever agreed to those ugly unis.

 

IMO these are the only alternates ND should wear ever.

 

Best part of our game tonight was coaches wife wearing an "ok. cool. Hook Em!" Shirt.

 

Now I've been an Alabama fan going back decades. But dose anybody get tired of seeing them beat up their opponent by thirty, forty or more points evey weekend? It's always a mismatch. It would be like watching the New York Mets play the San Diego Padres every weekend. They have always been in a league of their own. Now a game I would watch is the Tide vs. say, Green Bay, or even the second string.

 

Always remember this when you say college players vs NFL players. Say Alabama this year has 16 nfl players, NFL team has 53 NFL players. Although it would be funny to watch it wouldn’t be close.

 

I said this about Texas 13 years ago. We were averaging 50 points a game and I would switch the channel at half time to watch more competitive games.
