Bruh, they were hyping him the second after he threw that TD pass last year in the title game. Unacceptable. Honestly, I kinda feel like he was crowned the Heisman this past spring. Unreal.

 

Yeah, Quinnen Williams has been a monster this year. Delpit was fantastic.

I mean how many times has Devin White's name been mentioned but not in the Heisman talk? It's just a QB/RB award.

I wish we had an entire row of heisman statues @MS State, it's cool looking. I was in Auburn a few years ago and walked their campus, and saw the heisman statues. Very nice. That being said, I know they really mean nothing but you were most popular that year, lol. I don't necessarily like the coach statues as much;they're good from the historic perspective.

 

I vote for the candidate that leaves me the biggest grocery store paper bag of cash ...(back in the day we had large paper bags in stores), lol ...And I enjoy it , well some years the cash is in the form of a promotion. The biggest payout year was 1997 with corner back Charles Woodson

 

I mean, Devon White got ejected for poor sportsmanship. Hitting those poor QB's. Can't win the Heisman when you are a poor sport.

 

Meh. More bronze goes in to the coach statues.....

A coach's era and influence can last much longer than a player's.

I mean, UF had Tebow and look, they are still cleaning up Meyer's mess......lol.



Considering you have to win a natty to get a statue as a coach at Bama, I'll take a natty over a Heisman 10 out of 10 times.

 

That's true, and I like the historical perspective the coach statues display. Players are remembered by the next generation(s) over and over, via highlights/top plays of all time/instant classics/and on & on. Coaches are somewhat remembered, but often fade and have little effect on recruits (except tBear). Occasionally they'll have a "coaches moments" documentary and show Indiana's basketball coach throwing the chair, it's awesome...pure emotion caught on film...unedited...haha

I agree with winning the natty for one reason, the paycheck... which will bring the best players, and the ROI is a higher probability of a heisman winner & another national championship.

Florida's always a mess in some way. That's why coach Spurrier left. Really had nothing to do with Meyer. It's the culture.

 

It's funny how its "He only up for a heisman because his team is going to the NCS" or a "popularity contest" when it's a Tide player up for Heisman. Just sayin.

no, it's that way because the past bama winners (and current in running) aren't even winning their position category! if you look back at the most of those guys on that list they all dominated or at least won their position statistically.
