It doesn't matter anyway. The Heisman committee has lost it's esteem by awarding that trophy to players who aren't so great off the field.

If Fournette played the extra 3 games Henry had, one game was cancelled for weather that year. Say Fournette gets his average for the 3...that's an extra 488.25 yards. That puts him at 2441 yards, greater than Henry's 2219...by A LOT. Henry had an FCS game under his belt, Fournette didn't because that game was cancelled. At 22 TDs in 12 games, Fournette might have been 1 short or equal of Henry with 3 extra games played. Fournette did all of his work with 25 attempts per game. Henry? it took him 26 attempts each game. Fournette would have demolished Henry's stats had Fournette played for Alabama. Fournette > Henry.

McCaffrey though, beast. Yeah 8 TDs, so what? again...Henry probably got the ball 20 times on his 1 freaking yard line. Sorry, 1 yard run...not impressive. McCaffrey had over 645 yard received on top of his 2019 rushing yards. He was the best return man in the country. All purpose yards of 3864!!! Holy crap! Heisman material.

But all those attempts! Henry didnt have the opportunity that McCaffrey did....(your argument for Fournette over Henry).

Depends on the bowl game lol. Of course the playoff bowl games will be pricey. Currently looking at making a trip to the sugar bowl and they are around $100/ticket (Top Level of course)

McCaffrey had less attempts than Henry did in rushing, by 58, but was only 200 yards shy. That's less than 4 yards per carry.

Yeah, that's kinda my point. Top level for a hundo.

Or, you can spend that hundo on booze and food and sit in your recliner and have a better view....lol.

But Henry didn't return kicks, or act as a receiver as much.....All those attempts!

McCaffrey has proven to be a much better option in the NFL as well as a more rounded player in college. The Heisman committee is racist. White guys get no love.

Henry was too big to be an effective returner or receiver, in my opinion, or he might've gotten those attempts. Speaks a lot to McCaffreys endurance for sure.

Can't disagree on the second part lol, white guys do not get love. I miss Jacob Hester.

    Meh. I like 6.

    upload_2018-12-3_14-0-40.jpg

If you move to eight, this year specifically you'd have 2 teams with 2 losses, 3 teams that aren't conference champions (one of which doesnt even have a conference....) and a team that has the weakest SoS and SoR in the top 15, maybe even top 25.

However, if you move it to 6 teams, you'd have 4 conference champs, ND, and UGA who proved they were at least competitive.

I'm fine with 6, but I think you'd have more argument of "who gets the bye week" moreso than you would "who gets left out at #9".

I think if you go to 8, historically, the #9 team and down have just about zero argument to be included. basically they'd be like "we sucked ass a little less than the #8 guy did" and we could just answer "yeah but you still sucked ass, sit down, shut up" lol. that's just me.

6 would exclude UCF, which doesn't bother me, BUT the committee says "all FBS teams have equal opportunity at the playoff" and that's just not true...UCF goes undefeated twice with no opportunity at it.

Is record the first indicator? If so, then UCF should be in. However, if SoR and SoS are considered, then....maybe not. I'm cool with UCF being in. However, they cant be in over ND as they are undefeated. They could however be in over OU, but OU has a much stronger schedule and SoR. So......hell, I dunno.

The bye week is easy to figure out. Highest ranked team in the second round gets the bye. Or, simply go to 5 teams and give number 1 a bye the first week.

according to the committee record is the first criteria, but I think that's because they've had so few power 5s go undefeated that they kinda just stick them in there. then they say "we compare similar record teams"...then move down the list...conference champs, SoS, head to head, etc.

I don't think its any secret that if you had to pick a team/teams that have separated themselves from the rest of the pack this year it would easily be Bama and Clemson. They would be the clear choice for the 2 byes if it were a 6 team playoff. With ND / OSU and UGA / OU battling it out to play Bama and Clemson. And regardless of what is said, UCF doesn't deserve a chance at anything til they join a real conference. Same really goes for ND, hell, they are in the ACC in basketball so they need to grow a pair and join a conference in football where it actually matters.

I don't disagree with you, but you can't just say "regardless of what is said" just because you don't like it. If it's said/written/stated whatever...it needs to be followed.

but yes this year the 2 that get the bye would be more obvious....but what about past years? it's not always easy.
