He’s getting mixed reviews for it too. It’s trash, and honestly, that dude needs another game to prove he can read a damn defense (see: any game where they mixed coverage and he had to check down of his primary).

I’m glad I didn’t buy tickets. I’m disappointed now - I’d be furious then.

 

I hope OU destroys them.

 

The only bowl games that are going to be played at full speed are the playoffs, and the only way to make the other bowl games matter is to make them part of the playoffs.

 

Needs to be a full blown 8-game playoff.

 

One more game isn’t going to make or break his draft stock. He can sit out and maybe fall a few spots, or he can play, break a leg, and never get signed. He’s making the smart business move.

MAYBE 6. I like 4. Win your games and you’re in - unless you’re a group of 5 team and don’t play a ranked team all year - then you don’t matter anyway. Schedule tougher OOC opponents if you want to prove you belong (lookin at you, UCF.)

8 teams Is way too many. With 6, you take 5 conference champs and an at large. Top 2 get a bye. But 8 teams makes the regular season matter less. You can lose 2 games and make it. Makes every week matter less.

I'm with you on the playoff... 8 is too many. 6 could be good, but I wouldn't just give all five Power 5 conference champs a spot. There will be years when they don't all deserve it over others. This year's PAC 12 is a good example. Ohio State and Michigan are both more deserving of the 6th spot than Washington this year.


I also agree that Alabama is going to murder OU. The Heisman will add some motivation. The OU passing defense ranked 120-something out of 130, and they racked up Murray's heisman stats against much softer defenses than they'll see in Miami.

 

They have insurance policies out for this. I am stating strictly from a fans perspective. It’s garbage.

OU’s offense is way better than UGA’s, UGA wins if Kirby doesn’t forget how to coach or if Tua stays in.

So you’re going to argue that conference champs get in a la NCAAT regardless of record and then have one at large? No controversy brewing there.

8 games, auto bid for conference for P5 conference winner, 3 at large. UGA would get in, UCF would, and then controversy for the 8th.

It’s only going to be considered too many games / teams if your team loses.

 

Oklahoma ranks 100+ in yards surrendered per game, while Alabama ranks 5th in yards per game. With Tua Alabama will pass and run all over their defense. Without Tua, they'll just run all over their defense.

Oklahoma is 1st in yards per game, but the best defense (in total yards per game) they've faced was Army at 12th, who took them to overtime. The next best was Iowa State, 36th. Alabama is ranked 8th.

I don't see this game being competitive.

 

I think it’ll be closer than everyone thinks as well.

I have zero issue with kids not playing in bowl games if they are planning on going to the NFL.
I hear the argument about team loyalty and all that but I call bullshit. As many have said in here already. Bowl games mean nothing unless you are playing for a ring. So no one should fault these guys for looking out for their future earnings by skipping the last meaningless game on their schedule.

Glad Murray won, but that presenter though wow he sucked balls. That dude never watched a football game in his life. The two hundred and eighteenth presentation and he couldn’t say Tua’s name right(even though everyone in Alabama couldn’t and that one dude didn’t think Tua spoke English). The dude has been in the headlines and highlights all year and you couldn’t get it right.
