Sorry, but 9 defensive starters and having to play a WR at CB is much worse than losing your QB. At least a backup QB is meant to play the position.

 

When was the last time a DB led a team to a victory?

Not saying that losing that many starters isn’t devastating, but comparing DBs to a QB is a giant reach.

I'm not comparing DBs to a QB. I'm comparing an entire fucking defense to a QB. As good as UCF is supposed to be that backup should've had plenty of game time and experience. LSU had players playing positions they've never played. 9 starters isn't all they missed. They missed 2 deep in some positions. For a team that relies on defense its devastating.

 

There is zero fat on the prize winning steer. Y'all might not know this but bevo actually lives out here near me. His ranch is 5 miles from my house. When we won the national title over USC we went and hung roses on the gate.

 

Look at WVU’s game. We played a 4-star second string backup. I’d rather player who hadn’t played DB or replacements than play a guy who isn’t in sync with the first string or isn’t sniffing first string snaps by a mile.

Besides, thought SEC defense was supposed to be heaven sent?

You realize that basically what amounted to LSU’s second string defense held UCF to 250 yards, right? 9 out of 11 players weren’t starters. That’s impressive

 

Sec teams just dont usually put all their eggs in one basket like big12 teams seem to do a lot. That's why it takes 9+ players to cause a big problem for sec defenses, but 1 player for big12 or other conferences to be affected. Look at alabama, Heisman runner up QB can plug and play with the backup. Eggs in 1 basket is never a good idea

Oklahoma and Texas used to play defense until they ran out Brown and Stoops (figure he had enough). KSU, ISU, and KU to an extent play defense (KU offense can’t stay on the field).

‘Look at Alabama.’ Yeah, the team with as much space in recruiting between them and #2 as their is between the earth and the sun.

Holding UCF to low yardage with backups is pretty solid, but they had a backup QB. It’s a shitty draw for them, but acting like LSU overcame adversity is comical.

I didnt say it was 100% that way by conference. I said the big12 does that a lot, and the sec doesnt. Statistically and historically that's more true than it is false. I never said UCF was a bad team. But other than the scoreboard they got absolutley turd stomped by the 5th best sec team and the most handicapped team in the country. But UCF can flex all they want that they lost by 8.

 

Any team that has a player named “Lil’jordan” deserves to lose before the game even starts
