Official 2018 NCAA Football Thread

I was curious about the 2 bye weeks as well, interesting, but I like it. LSUs fall nicely every 4 games. so play 4, off, play 4, off, play 4.

 

Hold the damn phone, though.... The La State OOC slate is pretty weak, too... GA Southern, Northwestern State (literally never heard of them) and Utah State? Also get Vandy as the rotating team from the East.

Yeah, Texas is at least an attempt to play a good team. As discussed, these things are scheduled years in advance.

I take back my criticism of the schedule... playing @ Texas is an attempt to have a meaningful OOC game.

 

LMAO I was about to say, Texas, really? I wouldn't confidently pick Texas over Louisville or FSU this year......ok well maybe FSU cuz they are just awful, but I think Texas v UL would be a very close game.

 

lol it's still worth criticizing. I don't care how the schedules play out, just hate hearing someone say "yeah we've played the best" when they clearly haven't lol

 

Our open dates don't fall as nicely as y'all's, but having them before playing at TAMU and before y'all come to town means we'll be off (or "off") before TAMU, La State and auburn. Not a bad way to go.

Also, shout out to any tame playing their big OOC game in week 2. That week is so shitty most years, it's nice to have a decent game or two to watch. I wouldn't mind Bama doing that in the future... I could enjoy the good games in week 1, then enjoy a good Alabama game in week 2.

Week 2 sucks.

as in claiming Texas isn't a good OOC opponent, but then claiming Texas vs. Louisville is a good game, but that Louisville is a good OOC opponent? hm...

oh and Miami is just so overrated, but Arkansas State is top dawgs.

UGA has to play 5 games where the other team is coming off a bye. I do like starting in Nashville (hotel already booked for the weekend) and ND and A&M coming to town.

 

I thought the SEC put in a rule about that a few years back. Alabama had to play a bunch (maybe it was 5? maybe 6?) teams coming off a bye. It was pretty brutal.

Alabama plays 3 teams coming off a bye week in 2019, but we have a bye on two of the same weekends so it's NBD. MSU is off before playing us, while we're playing La State. That could be tricky.
