With a GPA of 4.0, Notre Dame requires you to be at the top of your class. You'll need nearly straight A's in all your classes to compete with other applicants. Furthermore, you should be taking hard classes - AP or IB courses - to show that college-level academics is a breeze.

With a GPA of 3.68, UT Austin requires you to be above average in your high school class. You'll need at least a mix of A's and B's, with more A's than B's. You can compensate for a lower GPA with harder classes, like AP or IB classes.

I think this is pretty interesting.

To see what kind of value the universities put on education, separate from sports is cool. The Clemson tidbit is probably the most interesting to me, as they have higher requirements than Harvard.

Guess that whole "We have smart kids, thats why we suck" excuse is out the window. Eh hem, Stanford, Notre Dame......

My neighbors son turned down Stanford and USC to attend Notre Dame. He is in finance major and he was home in the summer and saying that shit was hard. I started my college life at an Ivy League school and basically burned out after 2 semesters. The first semester was through their satellite program while I was in High School. Second semester there was hell, how much shit we had to do. I was happy when I finished with the Marine Corps and finished at the University of Hawaii that place was a breeze.

Yeah, Finance at ND is probably really tough, but, you are pretty much guaranteed a 6 figure job with solid security and alumnus support like NO.OTHER.

Those ND grads are thick as thieves. They come through for their own.

Yea he’s a sophomore and he already has a crazy awesome internship lined up for the summer. He’s a 4.0 student so I don’t think he will have a problem finding a job.

    here you go @JimBeam

going back to when someone slid so far for not losing...

    https://theclemsoninsider.com/2019/10/21/ap-poll-is-a-joke-to-clemson/

    From the article:

The last time the preseason No. 1 team dropped as far or farther without a loss was Oklahoma in 1977. The Sooners fell to No. 5 in the poll. In 1971, Notre Dame had a similar slip in the polls, as it dropped all the way to No. 7 without losing a game in the first five weeks.

Poor Auburn. Now LSU has material to motivate.
