I dunno. No clue. It wasnt that loud. And how exactly does that make it so you cant block, or catch footballs?

(I can see where communication would be potentially more difficult, but he isnt the QB calling audibles...)

    Also.... 6 weeks? Wow.

I really don’t think THAT much is going to change. If I remember the California law correctly, they can’t hire a sports agent, but an agent that can handle their sponsorships/appearances, etc. I could be wrong, but I think I remember seeing that somewhere.

CBS game of the week. Always 3:30

I’m sure they would. When is the current CBS/SEC contract up? Any clue? Maybe they can work something in to move the GOTW to a prime time slot

CBS contract is they only get 1 prime time slot per season, they wasted it on Georgia/Notre Dame this year so they have to have Bama/LSU at 230.

its 3:30 in the right time zone.
But yes, I know this. That’s why I asked when the contract was up and that they could negotiate the time of the game at the next negotiations.

    "right time zone"

both Bama and LSU are in central, so it's at 230 for them.

contract is up in 2023, thanks Mike Slive.

I prefer CBS telecasts. Their music defines Fall Saturdays for me

Also, Auburn fans blow my mind every season. How does a steady top 15 remain on the hot seat every season?

He very well may be tanking to avoid Miami....I'm sure Saban would like to turn the knife in their back...hahaha (Although I dont think Tua will be a great NFL QB.)

So, when you hear all the information together about this injury, it brings me to a point where I dont think he is actually hurt, at all. I saw the play, and I saw the ankle roll up (a little bit.....) I believe there may have been some scary sort of feeling for Tua. What I didnt see is him limping. I saw him jump right up and play the next few plays. Then, I saw him on the sidelines....walking just fine. Then he went back to the locker rooms, still, not limping.

The media reported a high ankle sprain. Ok. Thats fine. But they also reported that a high ankle sprain is very hard to walk on. Let alone, walk without a limp. Shortly thereafter, Tua was reported going to the hospital in an ambulance, of which he walked to, unassisted by crutches or people. (Why would you continue to let someone walk on a sprained ankle?)

Then he was back, from the hospital. Why? If they had determined surgery was an option, why wait? Why allow him on the sidelines or in the locker room without a boot/ice/crutches/etc. Perform the surgery now, decrease healing time and move on.

Nothing adds up for me. I think Tua was having a bad game....and injury was a better option than having a bad game. I think maybe Pruitt had Tua's number and Saban wanted to throw Mac Jones in there to give the team a better chance to win. Now, LSU has to prep for potentially 2 different QBs, which means their efforts will be divided, defensively. They cant focus in on Tua or Mac, and they are both different.

I dont think Tua was ever really injured. I think this is all a rouse. I think Saban getting pissed about being asked about it is part of the act. If you consider another thing he has said, "We are going to play the guys who give us the best chance to win", that makes a lot of sense when you apply it to Tua, UT, Pruitt, etc. Pruitt knew exactly how to affect Tua. He was too close to the situation. But not the case with Mac Jones, necessarily.

I think its all bullshit. I think Saban is playing a game with the media and the SEC here. I think he is pulling out some stops to try and better position Alabama against LSU. Then, Oklahoma lost, which kind of changed the narrative for Alabama AND LSU. But Saban stuck with it vs. Arkansas, as he probably felt they didnt NEED Tua for Arkansas. He wanted to lean on the ground game anyway, and he also got Mac some confidence at the same time.

I know this sounds like some tin foil hat shit....but....whatever. I really dont think Tua was really injured. I think he went ahead and had this surgery to prevent future issues, at a time where he was having a bad game and Pruitt was all over him. It also was the right time to allow Mac Jones to get in, take over, gain confidence, bolster the run game.

I bet Tua plays. If he feels uneasy or makes one bad decision, Saban will pull him and let him heal longer. Supposedly, no matter what, LSU and Alabama are "guaranteed" a spot in the playoff, with only one loss. SO.....Tua needs to make sure he is ready for Auburn and potentially a SECCG.

I just think Saban is selling it....thats all. Simply to make game planning more difficult for LSU.

I don't believe that for a second. You don't put a guy through ankle surgery to make another team plan for 2 QBs, they already plan for 2.

Also even though they are different, if you're ready for Tua...you're ready for Mac.

I dont know about that. With Mac, Bama will be run heavy.. With Tua, they are pass heavy.

I dont know that he actually HAD surgery.

yes but you don't plan for only pass because Tua plays, and you don't plan for only run because Mac plays.

like "oh Tua's playing, let's ignore Najee and tackling and run defense"....right...

you get some of that happy gas at the dentist today?
