Tua looked, well, over confident and unprepared. I'm not sure he ever came back from that first interception. I think he was so shook, that even tossing a bomb on the next drive, he never got any confidence back.

    Venables had an amazing gameplan.

Saban got scared WAY too early. I dont know if he simply accepted defeat early, or what but, going for it on 4th down damn near all game didnt give the defense any props.

Sunshine played really well and FUCK JUSTYN ROSS, traitor. LOL.

I think an interesting take is that Saban was "calming his team, removing the emotion" while Dabo was helping his team "take it all in" and "have fun". Clemson came to have fun and ball out, while Alabama was obviously stuck in some foo foo zen moment. (I'll take a jacked up team ready to ball out and have fun any day of the week.)

Two turnovers by Alabama (14 potential points) and 3 stalled drives in the red zone (21 potential points) are the difference here. Alabama couldnt get off the field on 3rd down to get the ball back to the offense.

Props to Dabo for creating the proper mindset for Clemson as a whole, and to Venables.

    Next season starts tomorrow.

it is weak, seriously. not just crap talking but that is a weak schedule. Alabama ought to have no issues other than LSU and A&M, and they have their byes before both of them.

It isn't too far off from LSU's schedule, although Alabama does have an additional weaker opponent. LSU has a bye before Alabama so that is a wash. LSU gets to play both Arky and Vandy? That is comparable to Alabama playing eUSC and Arky I suppose.

I'm not arguing with ya...just stating I dont think LSU's schedule is insanely difficult...but, maybe that's because I know LSU can be a MONSTER of a team. Texas showing up for their bowl game adds an interesting wrinkle, but I think we all know Texas isn't really "back". It will be interesting to see if Herman can ride this momentum into next season. And LSU will have to have their shit together early in the season.

The interesting match ups I see between the two schedules is the LSU vs. UF and the Alabama vs. UT game. UT *could* be on the upswing, and so could UF. Those games may prove more difficult than they look. At least for Alabama.

LSU always just seems to be one piece away. One player away from a very dominant team.

C'mon Clemson, now that you're Bama's daddy, you have to schedule nothing but top tier, D1, P5 teams. Seriously, UCF's schedule may be more difficult.

Oh no I'm not saying that LSUs is just lightyears ahead in difficulty, but it is absolutely more difficult than Alabamas.

    LSUs off conference teams just went 10-3, 10-4, 11-2, and 5-6. Alabama's went 8-5, 3-9, 6-5, and 3-8. That's a BIG difference there.

Texas and Florida are both on the upswing, and both just beat formidable opponents in their bowl games. You can say Tenn is on the upswing, but no real evidence of that yet.

When you compare the schedules and records of LAST year, it doesnt correlate to difficulty or quality of the team directly, does it? I mean, its a different team, with different personnel.

I'm not being silly here. Northwestern State or Utah State compared to Western Carolina or Southern Miss? I honestly dont see much of a difference considering the talent disparity between those teams and a LSU or an Alabama.

I mean say what you want, but even if those teams don't compare to LSU/Alabama....compared to each other LSU's grouping is strong. Especially with Texas. Sorry, when your off-conference "highlight" is Duke...you have a weak schedule.

I did  Dabo has learned from giving Bama the title after letting up on the gas in his 1st National Championship Game. You play to win the game. Clemson let up and gave Bama a title. Georgia let up and gave Bama a title. Not this year. Clemson stepped on Bama’s neck and kept on stepping til the clock said zero.

    Oh I agree wholeheartedly.

Alabama should have to play Clemson to open the season. That, THAT my friends would make the playoffs interesting each year.
