I personally think LSU is too high, I don't think they deserve 6th, but what do I know?

I agree with you on the other stuff for sure. Preseason stuff usually makes little to no sense.

 

Other Than Neb, ND getting ND love as always a top 10 team... Possibly Florida being a little high. Georgia I think is top 10 solid, arguably top 5, but 3 might be a bit much.

LSU... why are they even on the list?! I kid, they seem close to where I would've guessed maybe a few spots too high.

But Nebraska is the biggest outlier on the list, hands down. People say the 4-8 record doesn't reflect the team, and to an extent it doesn't. But W's matter in the end. I don't like having overly lofty expectations at this point. Let the team earn them. Just win and it'll come.

But, Lots to prove and if they can stay unscathed going into the match up with Ohio teh State... could be big and a real chance there to make some noise.

 

I think Michigan State is right there beside them as the biggest outliers.

 

I think it is worth noting that Texas A&M and South Carolina will BOTH play the preseason top 3 during the regular season.

 

It’s hard to go against the guy that brought you your last heisman and national championship.

Bo is probably one of my all time favorite athletes, though. Him and Deion are top 2 for me as far as an overall athlete.

 

I hate that Bear Bryant refused to give Bo a shot at playing time as a freshman, forcing him to commit to Auburn.

Nebraska being ranked after a 4-8 season... found this tidbit:

Nebraska has the worst record from the previous season for a team ranked in the AP preseason Top 25 since Alabama went 3-8 in 2000 and was ranked No. 25 to start the 2001 season, according to Ralph Russo of the AP.

So it's actually been worse before Bama went 7-5 that year so the bar isn't unreasonably high...

I only know this because my wife swam for U of Michigan and she always corrects me. Something about learning it during her initiation (...hazing) and being required to eat a lot of corn.

Same thing they did with Texas the last few years. Rank based on name not on deeds. Same reason most of the sec teams get ranked so high.

 

I think they could be 10-2 just as easily as 8-4. This season comes down to Ehlingers health.

As far as the big 12 I think Iowa state is in the mix for conference title.
