The unabridged version. If you want to be the man you got to beat the man. Clemson's Seniors did it twice.

I’m hearing Pittman is staying and there may have been tension between Chaney and Coley.

Yea I have no doubt we could have matched. I’m not terrible concerned that he’s gone. The lack of aggression when we’re ahead, the lack of screen plays, and the very, very predictable play calling in general can be done by anyone :notsure:

Unless there’s a big name out there, I think Coley gets the promotion and we find a new TE coach.

As long as Pittman and Kirby are there, I think we’ll be OK.

So, this is kind of me just putting this down....

From the media and the interwebz (I know, grain of salt or whatever) they keep saying that this win was different for Clemson, and Dabo said something to the effect of "if little ol Clemson can do it, anyone can..."

Did I miss something? Has Clemson not been a powerhouse for a few (like, 5) years now?

Wasn't everyone saying before the game how evenly matched and built these teams were?

Why all of a sudden is Clemson the "Little Engine That Could"?

I mean, I get that the score shows Clemson handing Alabama their (our/we/us) ass. I get it. It was a 4 touchdown win. But, how is Clemson still the poor little program? That moniker was gone the instant they won their second national championship and had top recruiting classes, oh, and owned the ACC.

In the grand scheme of things Clemson is a small school across the board athletically compared to the
big programs like Bama and Ohio State. Hell they just got girls golf and softball there. So yes the school is smaller than most.
But the football program is big time. :benchpress:

I think it’s just Dabo’s Mindset. He likes thinking of them the way he thinks of himself: just a regular guy - nothin special. I think everyone knows Clemson isn’t “little ol Clemson” anymore, but they will be in his mind :notsure:

About time the Vols hired someone. Seems like a solid hire though. With that being said I wonder what the true motive of the move was? A man doesn't leave a National Championship Caliber team just because of the money...

We're glad to have him. Seems like a win-win for both sides honestly

He’ll be fine for UT. Most UGA fans wont miss him.

Justin Scott-Wesley (former UGA player) tweeted out “UGA got better today

Just need to add a "Tagreting 0" for when the offensive player makes a move into the path of the defensive player resulting in the contact. Those were the calls that annoyed me the most. Defensive player is already commited and at the time it is a legal tackle. Offensive player tucks and suddenly becomes in the path for a targeting call.

agreed 100%. got Grant Delpit for that against UCF in the bowl game. I also think if you hit them with the front of your helmet it shouldn't be targeting. just because it's helmet to helmet is stupid.

From what I read, money was a key reason. Chaney has worked with Tenn before. Apparently owns some land near Knoxville and figured he getting close to retirement. Fattening his wallet for the golden years.

Im not against the idea of Targeting calls. I think it is good. But it seemed like a vast majority were more just "football movements" and accidental helmet to helmet. But with no clear rules it was up to the refs (or the Pac-12 executive in the replay booth....) to determine the call

Well that's worked out for the Vols and Rick Barnes, so bring it on. (Men's bball coach that was fired by Texas but now #3 team in nation)

Brent Venables is worth his weight in gold. Best defensive coordinator in college football and not even close. Every year (this past year excluded) Clemson loses hosses on the DL and he still puts up crazy numbers. Clemson will lose their entire DL for 2019, and he will still have a top 10 defense.
