    Yea for the bigger name or top recruits ESPN will cut in on whatever they are showing and show the announcements. Now with early signing day back in December, there aren't very many that are left for the actual national signing day to show.

    This is gonna be a pot stirring comment... but whatever.

    I never cared about recruiting. I dont think it really matters. The key to a winning organization is coaching.

    The 2006 national championship team was barely top 50. That coach turned a bunch of subpar players into a champion.

    Better example... not college but still proves my point... 2010 49ers were trash. 2011 a coach comes in and with the EXACT SAME TEAM damn near makes it to a Super Bowl.

    Imho... its coaching that makes a team. AL, UGA, tOSU, Clem, etc are competing because they are well coached.

    Bet they continuously win that confrence...

    Anyone remember Boise State in 2003?... how about in 2006?

    What changed? Players or the coaching staff...

    Same with Clemson.... or heck... I'd bet top dollar a team like App State could hang with any power 5 team right now. Why? They are well coached.

    LSU wins national title, but doesn't make your list of teams "competing" lol.

    It's a combination of coaching and recruiting. The teams you mentioned competing (and the teams you mistakenly excluded) happen to have good coaching AND great recruiting. Notice you didn't mention teams that aren't at the top of recruiting.
