no need to be sorry. I loved watching Deion as a player when I was a kid. Heck I even had a pair of the nikes marketed for him. Do I think he's a good coach? Sure. Can he become a great coach? maybe, time will tell. But I don't understand all of the media hype (not saying its all undeserving). with a lose or several loses that should quiet down. So bring on the hammer of Thor.

 

Agree. I'm all for a feel good story, but daggum. Media needs to pump the brakes a little.

But I don’t get all the hate for Colorado. I get that they’re being hyped up. Maybe a little over hyped. But, Deion came in and cleaned house - deservingly since they won 1 game last year - and then brought in his own guys and has already won more games than they were predicted to win all season. They deserve some hype. I love Deion as a coach. Tells his guy to talk their talk and do their dance after they score or make a play. In a day and age where everyone is offended over something and everything is being watered down, he’s putting fun back into the game Sports is entertainment, and Deion brings plenty of that.

 

He’s entertaining, but the annoying part is getting a team rammed down our throat that’s beaten *checks notes*

He’s channeling The U without the team and wins. The swagger is awesome, but the media hype is obnoxious because they’re going to get absolutely crushed by the above average teams in their schedule, with or without Hunter.

 

I get it. It is entertainment & fun watch.... to a point.

Just suppose his arrogance is off putting more so than none. imo.

Hard to argue if CSU (a 23 pt underdog) had any discipline they would have won that game.

I mean, they’re 5-16 in the last 2 years. And it’s Deion Sanders, so of course there’s gonna be media coverage and hype. He was “prime time” and “neon deion” for a reason. He brings eyes everywhere he goes. And Weve already went over in this thread that it’s all about money (hence playoff expansion), so of course the media is gonna cover it.
I’m not saying it’s been over the top - it definitely has been. It’s a lot. But at the same time, this team has a little hope for the first time in a long time. It’s fun to see a possible 180° turnaround in a team in a year. They’re obviously not gonna win the PAC and they’re not going to the playoff, but if he can win 6 games this season it’ll be a major step up from where they’ve been. And you’re gonna get big time guys that want to play for him. So, unless they just go 0-9 the rest of the way, it’s only gonna get worse.

 

That CU/CSU game was still pulling 9 million viewers for ESPN at nearly 2am. Deion is college football right now until they lose. Which will likely be this weekend.

 

In related news, that Blackburn kid that lacerated Hunter’s liver has been receiving death threats.
