Just out of curosity, what is the material of the replacement bushing? Is it something soft like PTFE, or is it an impregnated rigid bronze?

    Thanks

So after reading through this I have came to two conclusions the bronze bushing will fix the problem or an ARB air locker will fix it as well... Am I correct?

I would also like to be "on the list" for a bushing.
If it matters, I can install w/ a review / pics if needed.

I've always wondered why my driver side shaft had so much play in it. Now i know! Mine doesn't cause any vibrations though but i am not lifted.

These next two weeks will be long. It seems each day, the growling is getting worse. I'm afraid to open it up and see what's going on in there. I'll likely need a new CV axle too I'm guessing.

You boys doing this fix, are you going with a factory CV or aftermarket? I know the factory one is going to be ridiculously expensive. There's a Group Buy on now for aftermarket CVs. I'm hoping those will be okay to use.

Tacmtn, go aftermarket. OEM is around $400+! Even the parts guys at my dealership said to go aftermarket.

Hey just wanted to post a little response to all the current progression of the aftermarket fix. Definitly glad to hear Chase ans ESGS are going to start turning some bushings.

I did alot of posting on the old thread that was deleted when I tore my front diff down a while back. After seeing that the spiders support most of the CV wieght and mothion I'm glad there will be a way to thighten up the 'actual' load support.

Chase - If there is a list I'd love to be on it, or another way to purchase. If not I understand somthing like this may take a while.

Thanks again for everybody's ongoing interest. If I can help let me know.

    Kevin

just read all of this great info. I am glad to hear and man from somewhere is smarter then TOYOTA and is able to fix this problem. I have had this problem for since I bought my tacoma. 2008 Double cab 4x4, 3 inch lift. Have gone round and round with two different dealers and they just blame it on the tires and lift before they even LOOK at it.

THANK YOU CHASE FOR SHUTTING UP MY TACOMAS FRONT END>

oh and i would like to be on the list too.

tacomtn; yes I had the lift on when they worked on the front end. I had checked before I installed the lift to make sure it would not void the warranty. For this particular dealership to pursue fixing the vibe again in the future, they would want me to prove to them that the problem is not due to the lift, by removing the lift and demonstrating that the vibe is still there.

That is one of the few dealerships that covered with a lift already on. As soon as they saw the lift, mine said no go.

To remove the lift and verify vibe/no vibe, that's a lot of trouble and work. I think most of want to keep the lift. For myself, that was the whole point of getting this truck.

Hopefully, Chase gets back to us soon. The line is getting long for his bearing.

does anyone know if it is just the drivers side bushing being made or will the passenger side need one as well?
