The driver tool fits perfect on the bushing. Plan on doing this on Sunday of this week. I'll be doing some major service to the Yota. The bushing, both wheel bearings, replacing an AC Blower motor and if that wasn't enough....I noticed a torn Rack and Pinon Boot while I was under the truck a few days ago. Damn it.....can't catch a break here!

So after a really crappy morning with family stuff, I got home and attempted to remove the bearing. Got all the way to removing it and then this happened
    33a7e643b2db371233224f658c986ad7_4d4c3d413d680bab8e438ea95a042d5e67129fbc.jpg

So now I have to call ECGS in the morning to try to get another one of these pieces. Am I the only person this happened to? I also tried a gear puller with a slide hammer. Needle bearing is damn near stuck in there.

Truck is new too. Which is why I'm kinda baffled. Figures it's my luck that it'd break on mine.

Install done, no real issues just takes some time to get the axle off, install the special tool and press the bushing back in.

Ugh, I need to do this but I'm dreading it. I always hated pulling CVs on past vehicles.

I'm assuming it started just after my lift, but I didn't notice it until last spring. Didn't bother me all summer because it wouldn't make noise unless I used 4WD and switched back to 2WD and I almost never use 4WD in the summer.

To everyone who did this install, how exactly does the tool fit in there? Are you able to move it once it's in place, like spin it? The smaller threaded piece. I know it sits behind the bearing but I Wanna make sure it's fully seated properly this time. Bit nervous now.

Yeah, just hammer tap it so it's behind the oem bearing then try and make it as centered as possible. If you don't see the bearing moving and the wrench starts getting really hard to turn then back off and center it again

Should it be horizontal behind it? Or vertical? Or does it matter.

It doesn't matter as long as it is centered.

Sounds good. What makes me so angry is that I've done head gaskets, transmission swaps, all the Jazz. But a tiny little bearing cripples my truck. Gotta love it

I hear that, after I installed the bushing I replace the seal but as I was installing the seal I split the outer lip on the seal. It has been a little over a week and doesn't leak but I am going to take it back a part again to replace which I Really don't feel like doing.:(

I have 2010 with vibe issues, have read within the thread that Toyota has a factory fix for this...can anybody comment on this vs the bushing from ECGS? Also, what is a TSB with regards to dealership service?

    cheers

It's the same crappy needle bearing that'll fail.
