Been reading on this post now and again. I did mine back at 3k glad I did it. I do have a removal tool that I could lend out, but am not going to send out my bearing driver, that's what large sockets are for. Ill tell you I didn't care if my warranty was messed up I didn't want to deal with dropping my truck off a the dealership so that they could hold it hostage. If you are thinking of doing this, think no more, it is worth it. I now have 15k and not one problem. 2 1\2 inch lift on the front just did it when I had the front end apart already. getting the CV out was the biggest problem I had. I just got a couple of large chisels and wedged them between the clam shell and the CV. Good luck fellas.

Do you not have the tools/space to do the install? I'd think a shop might do the work for cheap given how easy it was...

Go my tools back plus the end cap thing for the seal which a member generously added in.

Anyone in need of tools? As long as I get them back eventually

Wonder if I took it to a shop how much install would be?

It's a hard time saying what a shop would charge. Depends how smart they are and able to figure something out that almost no shops ever do

One of the first guys to have his needle bearing replaced on his '04 paid a local shop. It was around $400 IIRC. I can look up his username if you want to search his posts.

Just received the removal tool and driver today from @Slamking18. Hoping to do the replacement on Saturday and then I will check to see who I need to send them to.

Took mine to Trick Trucks, if anyone is familiar with the franchise (northern Va and Wv) they put it in for about $100

I bought the install kit but just checked and I have a 100k warrentee. Think I am going to let the dealership look at it first with the TSB and then have it chaged out ater if needed. It really has gotten bad after a 800 mile roundtrip about 3 weeks ago, enough that I thought I had a flat.

EDIT: Oh the vibes are so bad it feels like a flat. That could be your rear driveline, the front is more of a pulse vibration

Its a pulse. from the driver's front. always been there but got real noticible after my trip. I have 285 MT BFGs on there and now it sounds like I am hitting the mudflap with each lug.... but I removed the mud flaps when I installed the tires.

Looks like I have to go to the dealership

Oh yes, heavier tires. It could be yours is/was worse than mine. Yeah hit up the dealer first

So I am only lifted to 1.75 in the front wonder if I could luck out and have nobody actually notice it at the Dealership if I go in to have it looked at? Besides any pulse is there anything else I can do too see if I have it? Will there be movement on the axle underneath by me trying to move it around. I have a lift I am trying to figure out and new heavy Cooper ST/MAXX 265/75/16 tires I want to put on next summer. And I am sure lifting it higher, and putting heavier tires on the truck will only make it worse correct?

Yeah, the pulse goes away in 4x4 and the cv will have excess up/down movement at the differential side.

Either get the tsb done or install the ecgs bushing then lift it higher and put those meats on.

    That's what I did.
