I had an 05 with the vibe because of a 3" procomp lift but now have an 09 that is fine and not lifted. I would love to install a lift but definately do not want the vibes! Glad to see progress on a fix with this bushing but as a machinist for the past 15 years I am very skeptical on a bushing in a high speed application. I guess time will tell, but has this crossed anyone's mind? Also does anybody on here know what the replacement bushing is made of?

Chase was saying it was a PTFE material... all I know is that the ARB diff runs a bushing instead of a roller bearing and haven't heard of any problems with that.

Yes and one of the Tacomaworld members has been running one of these bearings from Chase for several weeks (not sure if it is exactly the same thing as the final product but close) and no problems have been reported yet.

I have a low frequency steady drone at 55+ that is wholly speed dependent and is not accompanied by a vibration; is it still possible this bearing is the problem? Wheel bearings check good.

I'm going to place my order as well. I am going to talk to toyota first and see if they will do the install for me instead of giving me a new diff under warranty....worth a shot! I'll have a look at previous threads but is the install tough for a 'non-mechanic'?

It has 5100s set at 1.75. There was no lift and no vibes and he had the bushing installed at the same time as the front lift and reports no vibes so far.

Just saw this update from Chase @ ECGS on there Facebook page -

TACOMA FRONT BUSHING UPDATE: We received 15 pieces in for testing on Thursday we are going to make a .001 fitment adjustment to the final product. We are polishing this adjustment off of each one, which means we only have 2 ready for shipment so far. We will be okaying the large order to be produced with the adjustment included and we should be able to ship the large qty. out in about 2 weeks. We are just waiting on some pieces to come in for the removal tool and to finish machining the few that we have and we will be shipping the first small batch. Thanks for your patience. - Chase

I have a 07 double cab Sport. No lift.

Im experiencing vibrations at low speeds when turning, especially right after starting the truck.

Does this sound like the bearing problem everyone is experiencing??

    What speeds?

Doesn't really sound like the problem we are having.. We are having the problem around 30 to 40 mph (like a growling or an on and off humming bird sound). Then it goes away as soon as you put it 4x4. My truck will do it a little louder when its cold. Hope this helps.

For those that had their diffs (or bearings) replaced, did you have to replace your CV axle as well? I'd rather not have to pay for one of those in advance and then turn out it's not needed. I'd guess it's a case-by-case issue since it depends on bad the wearing is on the CV. Like another poster said, there's a CV group buy. We have to purchase the axle, then send in our core. But I wonder if we get it and then don't need it, if we can return it.

Well had the truck into the dealer for te diff. To try and get it replaced under warranty. The answer is nope due to the lift. Not even a discount.
