Is the vibration all of you are feeling around 25-30 miles an hour? Can you describe exactly what it is? I get a vibration I can feel on the floorboard and brake pedal around that speed, especially slowing down. I have oversized tires, but not lifted yet.

Did you bring the TSB in with you and tell them that's what you think it is or what??

I told them the suspected problem. They found the TSB.

I can't imagine trying to deal with the dealer on this is worth the headache. It's cheap, easy and quick to fix.

Headache? Depends on your dealer I guess.

I dropped my truck off. Dealer gave me a ride to work. Later that day they dropped my truck off at my work. They ordered parts and we did the drop off again.

No effort on my part. And it was free.

I've heard of guys not having any issues but it's rare. Just like some people having the vibes on stock trucks. Mine was smooth at stock height, 15k (ish)miles it got lifted and the cyclical thrumming vibe started. I thought it was my new duratracs for a while- nope

From my experience, if it COMPLETELY smooths out in 4-hi, it's the bushing.

If you don't notice a difference between 2/4-hi on a nice smooth, straight stretch of road I'd say you're lucky for now. When it fails (cause it probably will) it's no big deal.

Not in your case, not in a lot of people's case. Most good dealers will/should take care of us. I was just chiming in for those who were getting hassled or were having a hard time getting the dealer to acknowledge there was a vibe present. If you need to make 2 trips it wasn't worth it! Then again, I prefer to wrench on my junk, I understand not everyone does.

I prefer wrenchin as much as the next guy... But when I have a warranty and there is a TSB on this issue you might as well try.

I think you are injecting your opinion/bias into what others should do more than you ought to. Personally, two trips (one to diagnose and second to order special parts and install) under warranty isn't a big deal. The repair is under warranty too. If it works it cost me nothing but a few minutes time. Never lost the use of my truck or anything.

If it doesn't work I have warranty records showing Toyota diagnosed and tried to fix it.

I just don't see how it was a big deal or a hassle. I got a warranty repair for free to fix the problem. My dealer didn't hassle me at all.

I dont see how the dealership is gonna fix anything. They keep putting the same part back in that has the defect, replacing cv axels differentials ( for the people that get lucky enough to have them do anything). If u want something done rite do it yourself. :sawzall: Or buy the bushing n have a mechanic put it in for you. Just my 2 cents

Read the last few pages. The TSB uses a different part number. The new bearing is a different size.

Obviously you're ignoring a lot of previous posts that state it's a new part with different tolerances, or you could research tsb-0026-15 and be able to have a more informed opinion.
I had the tsb done on my truck coming up on 2mo, and about 3,000mi with no issues, took a visit to confirm the issue and order the parts, and the 2nd visit it was finished early afternoon.
With free shuttle both ways, and my warranty remains intact!

Wish my experience was that smooth. The dealer admits something is wrong but won't take my word it's the front diff bearing. So they replaced a front cv and the rear driveshaft, of course vibe still there. Now they say it's normal and all tacomas do it. I'm still going to make them do it because then I don't have to replace my front diff fluid so that's money saved along with not paying for the ecgs bushing. So it's s hassle to make multiple trips, but I now have some new parts on the truck that I wouldn't have gotten out of warranty.

Is your dealer aware of the TSB? I told mine exactly what the symptoms were, about the known issue, and they went right after it. They even told me to kerri an open mind basically and they didn't want to assume anything.

Later they called and said, "We found the grinding noise. It is in fact the needle bearing in the front diff." Then they ordered parts. To my knowledge they had the truck up on the lift so they could "drive" it and be under it. If I understood them correctly.

Maybe another Toyota dealer might help?
