The fix is actually easier that it looked to me. East Coast Gear supply sells an install tool that made installing the new bushing very easy. Have the bushing in the freezer for a while, coat it with some gear oil, line it up, make certain you have the solid steel edge facing you, and then tap it in carefully with the tool. Then tap it carefully in until it is flush with the next mating surface. Once you are in there it is pretty obvious and is easier that I am describing. The guys on the site were super helpful. The fix is amazing and really works.

Ok so tap it in until it is flush with the next surface. Sounds good man. I guess then just slide the cv axel back in and put it back together.

I'm gathering the parts to do the ECGS fix. Can anyone confirm that part number for the C-clip on the axel is 43425-04040? The parts descriptions are pretty vague. Mine is a 2014. Thanks!

That dealer is violating magnuson-moss warranty act. It requires the warranty issuer to prove that the warrantied item was broken due to aftermarket parts. It is not the customers responsibility to prove that the aftermarket parts are not causing the problem. It also states that if they replace the item 3 times and it continues to fail, a genuine attempt to fix the issue warrantied is not being taken. This is against the law. They need reported to the FTC. We all should be reporting Toyota to the FTC and our state attorney generals for this front diff issue. They are not fixing the problem under warranty, when the fix doesn't actually fix it.

    http://www.lemonlaw.com/wordpress/t...-hidden-gem-most-consumers-do-not-know-about/

Look up magnuson-moss warranty act on the Federal trade commissions website. It says...

"If you think a dealer's service advisor denied your warranty claim unfairly, ask to speak with a supervisor. If you still aren't satisfied, contact the manufacturer or go to another dealer. You also may wish to file a complaint with your state Attorney General, local consumer protection office, or the FTC."

Finally ordered my bushing. Will install it when I have the front end apart for a few other upgrades and the diff is due for a fluid change in about 3k miles anyway. Hopefully it will warm up a bit by then too.

Well I'm done fighting with dealers and now Toyota directly. Anyone have the removal and install tool for the ECGS bushing they can loan out? I already bought the bushing and seal so I just need to borrow the tools, unless I can rent something from advance/auto zone to do it?

I'm getting the dealership to install the re-engineered needle bearing based off of the ECGS bushing under my warranty per the May 2015 Toyota TSB. I'll post results

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Just had mine done yesterday. Front diff still has a little vibe and noise with the improved bearing, but a vast improvement.

Downside, I think they knocked off one of my wheel weights in the process.

In hindsight, would you have rather had the ECGS bushing installed?
