Had dealer replace driver side cv axle in 06 .All you have to do is pull down on the axle and shake shake shake.they said no problems tire weights off by .02 or so.Yeah ok everyone has a tire off by that minimal. Can you say defect! At least no one has died but pissed off a bunch of us!!!!!

So how do I solve this issue on my. 2002 tacoma ? Mine has not been leaking and only makes noise when I hit bumps. I can grab the cv axle where it enters the diff and it's pretty lose and clanks

150 miles since I replaced my needle bearing with the EGS bushing. Totally worth it. Truck is now smooth as silk.

Wanna give a shout out to Honest transmission and auto repair. They are located in Snohomish WA and did a killer job on the bushing for a reasonable price. I didn't want to pay the cost of tools, spend the time, and didn't have a good location. I heard about these guys from a friend and was pleased with the service I got. Jeremy is experienced with working on Toyota trucks and did the research on the swap. In a few hours it was ready to go.

I can loan you my tool, but I'd like it back when you finish with it

This job really could take anywhere from 2 hours to 6 or 8 even. I'd clear a whole day just in case and start early. The first time you do anything always seems to take longer as its a new process

So is it worth it to replace this while I'm doing the bearing/hub assembly?

Or should I just do it another time? My truck isn't lifted, but while I have the tools out and the front end half disconnected, If it makes sense to just do a little bit more work and prepare it for lifting, I'll do it.

    Thanks.

I would say if you have the time, yes, I'd do it all at once. I replaced my LCA bushings the other day and did the tie rods at the same time. It's easier to take everything apart only once than multiple times imho. Also, it'll be nice that when you do lift the truck, it won't vibe right away. I drove with the vibes for months, but it may bother you more.
