I didn't replace the seals. All i did was replace the cv axles. Drivers side leaking pretty bad.

The needle bearing was shot and one roller actually broke in half but I was forced to throw it back together to get to school.

    I don't have any vibes

Should be flush with outer housing, not driven all the way in. A 2" pvc slip coupling is a cheap and great tool for just that.

Anybody had any experience recently rebuilding CV axles with CVJ axles out of Colorado (the re builders)? There are a lot of mixed opinions with them. Any suggestions for east coast companies that rebuild Tacoma's axles and have them in stock. Trying to decide if do a rebuild with them or get an aftermarket? Cant afford the dealer prices unfortunately.

Bearing driver, but you can use the back side of a large socket, like a 36mm and an extension to get the job done.

Well i read most of this post and then skipped to the end to see if affects 2016s. My truck has been rumbling annoying vibration for 1 month off and on. Had it to the dealer and they couldnt feel it. I have a 2.5 inch lift, running 285s and only 7000 miles on it. It goes away in 4wd so i ordered the ECGS bushing and removal tool yesterday, was shipped in less than 10 minutes!!! Arriving Tuesday but im afraid to install it alone. Anyone in Tulsa, OK area done this and willing to help?

Posting to see if anyone in TN would be willing to give me a hand with the install. Dealer quoted me 400.00 to install. Not sure if that is with fluids or not.

Would anyone loan/rent the tools for the bushing replacement (to get the needle bearing out). I am in VA. Greatly appreciated and will be promptly returned.

Found a buddy to help me do this. Parts are coming in today and we're doing it tomorrow. How much diff fluid did you lose? What fluid do most of you replace it with? I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Just make sure you jack the truck so that the side you are replacing the bushing on is tipped up a bit and the diff is supported to maintain that orientation. If you do that you won't lose any fluid at all and so you won't need to replace any.
