This is good to know. Thanks for letting everyone know, i was starting to get concerned there may be a new issue arising from the fix.

Those of you that have had problems with the seal leaking,
Did you get the leaker from ECGS or the dealer?
Does EDGS sell the factory seal or are they made by a 3rd party?

I installed the new bushing and nee cv xle and new wheel bearing on pass side and I'm still getting a groaning and growling noise. Plus I used a new seal from the dealer and it leaked out my diff fluid, so now I gotta figure out why!

We only sell the OE seal so everyone has received OE. One must take caution installing not to release the spring on the lip seal and not damage the seal with axle insertion. Always Lube the seal so it does not dry start.

Never mind, I checked my diff fluid and the front was full, bit I'm still getting a growling noise. I talk to a guy, he said it could be my spider gears. I guess that means I have to put an arb locker up from to fix the problem huh?

Yea driver side needle bearing. I'm thinking the bearings are bad since I ran my truck without front diff fluid, since the seal that the dealer replaced leaked.

Anybody do this and not use ECGS's rediculously priced puller? That is an insane amount to pay for a piece of all thread and a few scraps of metal.

The puller was definitely worth it. Once I started it probably took 4 minutes to get the bearing out, and I was slow and cautious cuz I didn't wanna eff up anything

Exactly what I did. Waiting for it in the mail right now. Even if you can't get on used right away, just think of it as a rental with a "deposit". Buy it, use it(be glad you got a precision machined tool that will get the job done right) and then sell it to another member for say $45. If everyone here sells theirs to a fellow member for slightly lower than they get if for and so on, it will only cost everybody a few bucks for the tool.

Also, Country101, how's about you just appreciate the fact that ECGS came up with a brilliant fix for this ongoing issue and quit whining.. they took it upon themselves to help people out, something that is not all that common these days :)

The bearing is great and I dont mind paying the price for that. It's worth it and a great fix, from what I have been hearing. What I am "whining" about is the fact that they are charging $60 for something that should cost $10. What is making this thing worth the other $50? Ok, so they got the right diameter on the piece that goes inside and they drilled and tapped it for the allthread and maybe beveled the back little? A fella can do that with a drill and a grinder in about 15 minutes. Guess I'm gonna have to be that fella.

I will. Once my laziness and business allow me to do this, I will be making it and trying it out, for better or worse. And then I'll sell it for $5 if it works!

I just need to find out the specs on the needle bearing to find the ID and OD of it so I know how big to make the tool.
