    Hey guys,
    Just read 41 pages of this thread and I still have a question..go figure.
    So, the 30 mph growl doesn't go away with 4 hi engaged. Mine happens a lot more on deceleration. Doesn't go away turning either direction. Not much slop in the cv joint. growls more doing between 60-65, than 30.
    Any suggestions? Wheel bearings seem tight, can't shake the tires. What the hell?

    I had a similar issue, and it turned out to be a U-joint. It did not seem loose, but after driving at highway speeds and then checking, the U-joint was REALLY hot.

    Thanks for the ideas. never thought to check u joint temp. 70,000 miles, and it might be wheel bearings? spent a lot of time in 4 wheel drive, but not quite what you guys do...less than 5mph in soft beach sand..(the freezer is full of striper) (not stripper)

    Well I am pretty bummed, I installed my bushing the problem is still there. 35 mph bad harmonics vibe then goes away until 65-70mph and then it comes on real strong, you can feel it in your feet and it sounds like it is coming from the front. I have had new u-joints put in and that did not fix it. If I put it in four wheel drive it does not go away. WTF!? I am beginning to hate this truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!:frusty:

    How about rear pinion nut torque? I know you said from the front, but I thought I saw somewhere on here, that people were having issues with that for driveline vibration..

    Finished the ECGS install yesterday and it is nice and smooooth! Wife still says she cant tell a difference though lol but I definitely do. I got the vibe right after i put my 5100's in at only 5k miles. Swapped the bearing out for the bushing at 23k. Bearing is still in great shape, so was the axle. The install was not fun what so ever though. Hardest part was by far pulling the axle out, didn't wanna budge. Took a lot of work with a pry bar.

    Also, when i removed my sway bar and tie rod end, grease oozed out of the rubber boot on both of them. Is this something I should be concerned about?

    If anyone needs the ECGS puller, send me a PM and I will sell it for the same price I got it from another member on here.

    Pretty much same story for me. I put the 5100's on at 4k and had the vibe as soon as I drove it. Good to know the CV and bearing are ok. I dont even notice it anymore - of course the Duratracs may have something to do with that. I'm just trying to decide whether I should just go with an ARB locker in front? Decisions decisions, but as you said not a big deal except the install sounds like it was a PITA!

    I was going to buy a new Tacoma in the morning.I'm glad I saw this thread.Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved on the 2013's? If not I won't be buying a Tacoma because I was going to get a 3" Rough Country lift.

    Well just did the install and what can I say, another success for the ECGS bushing. The noise is completely gone! I am very happy to be able to drive my truck without the damn hum! My comments on the operation are take your time and do it right. Read up on it and make sure to rent or buy the correct parts for an easy smooth install.

    Thank you everyone on this forum who had such great instructions and ECGS for finding a fix to our problem! Total it took me about 3 hours with all the tools listed on the forum.

    Also I have a puller tool available for sale!

    2".5 lift, HID head lamp and HID lights, color match tonneau cover and running board.
    you can make that bearing puller tool for just $6 bucks (including tax) and a trip to your local home depot or hardware store. i order the bushing and made the tool my self. it is one time use why would i pay $60 bucks for something that only took me 30 minutes to make one. if you need detail how to make the puller tool pm me .
