I had my dealer look at the excessive play in my CV about a month ago while other work was being done. I got the standard "it's normal". They even took me back to the garage and showed me an FJ with 8000 miles on it and it had the same play with the CV/axle.

Nope. Full stock cept the spindle. The cv axles where not that far off stock after the lift, up until I replaced the coilovers.

I don't have any vibration or noise coming from it either, I just happened to notice how loose it was and started checking the forum. Next time I go to the dealer I'm going to crawl under everything on the lot to compare, if they are all all loose I'm not worrying about it. Nothing is leaking.

They all will be loose guaranteed. Its just the design of the little needle bearing. If you don't have the vibes nothing to worry about. If you do the bushing will fix it plain and simple.

Just FYI. The bushing helps tighten up the play a little, but doesn't tighten up to no movement. There is still play with the ECGS bushing. I haven't had any issues though.

I have 2014 with 33,200 miles. I started complaining via email with my dealership service manager at 12,000 miles - continuing the same email thread with him month after month. Today they offered to replace the front differential and left cv axle at no expense to me. That haven't agreed to insert the ECGS bushing yet at the time of the swap, but I've ordered it and if necessary I'll install the bushing when I get home after I get the truck back. At least I'll have a new axle and differential to install it in - free.

    Better than nothing I guess.

make sure they install it right.... its 1/4 in longer and if seated all the way like original bearing it will be hitting the diff itself.

I may have missed some of this this thread but I think your only the 2nd person to have the dealer install the ECGS bushing. They didn't give you crap about being lifted? unless they sold it to you that way. I like that dealer. I wish it wasn't so far away.

I spoke with ECGS directly and they told me their no one buyer is Toyota dealers. Said that any are installing one of their bushings with every Toyota Factory lift kit. (This conversation happened only 3 months ago) Hope you can find one of these dealers! because mine sure as crap was not one!!!

Probably just the toytec kit. Not "Toyota".

Looks like I'm ordering this bushing tonight. Been dealing with the vibrations for 50k miles now.

Anyone have the removal /install tools they would be willing to pass on? I'd send them to the next person in need after. Pm me
