I have had 275/70R17's on my 2016 TRD Off-Road for about 15,000 miles with an Old Man Emu setup using 885 coils.

After alignment with the OME setup, I had zero rubbing. None at all–not off road, on the street, forward, reverse, none.

I had a King mid-travel setup installed yesterday with 119-EXT coilovers and Total Chaos UCA's. My ride height seems to be exact, if not a little higher than it was with the OME setup.

After alignment, I have some bad rubbing at certain turn radiuses. I would not take the truck off road like it is for fear of blowing a tire.

Is anyone else running a King setup with 275's that wouldn't mind sending me your alignment numbers?

I am taking it back in the shop on Friday to try and get this resolved.

    Thanks!

You want to try that again? Even the most sever change, going from load range "C" to load range "E" is only 10lbs. Most people are deciding between 265 E and the 275 E and its only a 2lb delta.

I am not a suspension guru at all but do you think that the ucas could be causing the rubbing? I remember hearing before that if you don't have enough lift for them (2.5 in or more) that aftermarket ucas can effect your caster making you rub.

    What tire is it? Brand?
Take for a example all time favorite BFG KO2. P265/70/17 weighs 45.7lb and LT275/70/17 weighs 55.4 lb.
As far as I know the 275 size comes only in LT which is 10 ply tire.

The UCA's would allow for more adjustment, thus allowing closer to stock alignment with more lift. There is no minimum amount of lift needed to achieve proper alignment. I do believe I have too much positive caster though.

That chart was for the BFG KOBro and your favorite P265/70/17 that weighs 45.7 lbs is a load range C tire, the same size in load range E weighs 53.4lbs. So again, 10lbs isn't 13-15lbs.

Thank you for the info. I may have misread or perhaps the person that posted it was incorrect. Good luck on correcting it. I just got my 887s on 3 days ago and I'm about to order my 275s to put on ray10s. I'm hoping that I won't run into a bunch of rubbing.

I don't think what you read what necessarily incorrect info. You will definitely have more positive caster after installing aftermarket UCAs like Total Chaos, but I believe it takes a tech with a certain know-how to get that positive caster lower so less rubbing occurs.

To preserve ride quality, I am not wanting to pre-load my coils by adding a bunch of ride height. The out-of-box increase in ride height with the Kings should be enough to clear a 275/70r17.

Hopefully I can find someone to get it right. Trimming (cmc) just seems like the "easy" (lazy) option.

Once again good luck. Alignment places seem so hit and miss when it comes to the ppl doing the alignments.

The King guys only know what they read. There's no ride height increase with Kings. They've forgotten that this is a Gen 3. With a Gen 2, there's a 1" increase. The instructions only consider Gen 2.

Bilstein actually has their shit together as far as intel on the 3rd gen. A bit surprising that high end suspension manufacturers like King haven't caught on. Well I guess they don't need to...

    Nice.

Well I'm not trying to gain a ton of ride height (obviously, I'm only running 275's), and I like my truck to be aligned properly, so maybe a CMC is what I will have to do. The OME setup just put the truck too high in the front for my liking. I will preload these Kings to get about 1.5" in the front.

Anyone know if 275/70r17 on Konig Countersteer Type X -10 4.1 bs will rub on the stock OR suspension?

I think you may run into rubbing with that bs at stock height. If I remember correctly ppl with 265s on a 4.3 bs just slightly rub at stock height.

I ended up ordering Konig Six Shooters and Khumo AT51's (cause they're a load C). I'll post picks up in a week or so when it's all here and installed.

Looking forward to seeing the khumos on one of these trucks. Are you running any lift?
