Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
A lot depends on offset. With Pro sema wheels +4, no rubbing. Changed to SCS -10 had slight rubbing at full lock on plastic. Just heated and massaged and no more rubbing. 2.25 front lift tho.

I know this is 3rd gen thread but i have 2nd gen with the 275/70/17 wildpeaks. 17x7.5 -15mm offset. Slight rub in reverse full lock but i haven’t done any of th enecessary trimming yet. No issues with balancing and like others also thought at first i didn’t like them size wise and was imagining a more tire-y 16 setup w 285s but had the same feeling of it grew on me big timd. I think they’re great now. And we get a lot of snow to deal with in CO so i figured slightly skinnier tires would do better in that. Weight is surprisingly heavy but at this size and ply you actually get 4/32 more tread depth than the e rated 285s.
I think it also has a warranty for 50k
But if you can get your hands on bfgs for the same price I’d jump all over that

    here’s mine with F3/R2.5in lift

hi, how does your new set up suspension compare to the stock? I just bought a sport and I’m looking to soften the ride a bit.

I know you didnt ask me, but mind if I give my $.02? Do it! Bilstein 6112 and 5160 in the rears are the best bang for the buck and not entry level trash. I installed mine 3 weeks ago and I' surprised how well they perform. They are not at the same level as an Icon higher end stage 4,5 or whatever they have, but they perform better than shocks like 5100s.

How much did this set up cost you? Did you do it yourself or you had it done?

I had it done because I work A LOT and honestly, I barely have time to see my kids and family let alone spend a full day to install these bad boys myself. I have the receipt in my office, but it was less than Fox or an Icon set up. $3,380 out the door which included front Bilstein 6112s, rear 5160s, 4 new Falken Wildpeak 285/70/17s, Camburg upper control arm MOOG, an alignment and labor. The complete shock set up was like $1,100-$1,300 just for the suspension parts alone which is a smoking deal. My good friend has an Icom set up and even though they ride a lot better, they were like $800-$1,000 more for that suspension. If you massive rock crawl and do heavy trails and abuse your truck, maybe think about going up to Icon or Kings. If you don't go hardcore and just light stuff lr around town, save your money. Most people get Kings, but never push them near their full capabilities.

Been on the fence about upgauging to larger tires, currently have 265/75/16s on OEM Pro Fox suspension with 2nd Gen fake bead lock Pro wheels (-11MM offset), no rub. After over half a year reading about upsizing it sounds like 95%+ of guys w 285s rub, 95%+ of guys w 265s don’t rub and about 50% of guys w 275s rub.
I want maximum ground clearance like everyone else but keeping the center of gravity low is also a priority for me. Gotta find that perfect balance for my rig.

The perfect balance is elusive. Hard to accomplish. 285s are great tires and help you go over more and look VERY good with Tacomas. They are heavier, but all this can be eliminated with one simple mod - regearing. The perfect balance if you ask me is 285s, 2.5" lift and regearing.

Yep, unsprung weight is a factor for me even though gas mileage is not because my rig is not my daily vehicle. I just don’t want to lose too much power at the wheel and have also thought about a new lower rear end. A lift is great for aesthetics but when the wheel is fully stuffed into the well that lift doesn’t affect clearance all that much. Already decided I won’t CMC my rig so for now I’m leaning towards 275/70/17s; hate to have to buy new wheels as well so if I’m gonna spend all that cash I may as well go with 285/75/16s and stay with current 16s...but I’ll probably be that 5% who rub.
Decisions decisions but have time to decide until my current tires wear out. This also will give me time to save up for the new Magnuson supercharger but DAMN it’s pricy; it I get it then I won’t need to re-gear.

i don’t plan to do a lot of off-roading But the suspension in the sport is pretty damn stiff. I can even feel the paint on the road.

Im just looking to soften the ride. I would not mind paying up to 1500 for the whole set up if it means a more comfortable ride.

i just want to enjoy this truck that I just paid 43k for.

It's totally worth it over OEM stock suspension. Night and day.

Only thing you should be torn about is weight. Those 275s are gonna be 50-55lbs depending on brand. I just installed 285s in Wildpeak AT3W. If you care about asthetics as well, 265s might look a little disproportionate depending on which sidewall or brand you choose.

Just put on titan t-ak1 17x8.5 -8 offset with wildpeak 265/70r17. Have slight rubbing turning into driveways and when reversing out of a driveway on an incline. Hoping to get rid of it when I can get the eibach lift kit w/ aal installed.

You will. Its your offset the reason you rub.

You saying I’ll still rub after lift? I think it’s barely catching the fender liner right now.

You will be fine after your lift. The reason you rub right now is because of your negative offset. I have 33" with a 0 offset and rub, but I ended up getting a cab mount chop. Once your lift is installed you will be fine.
