I think i'd rather contemplate a 6 lug axle and suspension conversion on the 2nd gen, over a cosmetic body swap .. esp. going to the 3rd gen design. Talk about turning a silk purse into a sow's ear.

 

This 5 lug community has been reduced to like 4 of us regularly posting.

On a side note, I never realized how much hate there was for us until I joined Facebook groups a few days ago...

Replied to post regarding looking for cheap spare set of wheels. Said I had a set of 15 inch rims for 5 lugs, and some guy basically told me that my truck was "cute" and that 5 lugs are shitty... blah blah blah. Basically a series of insults followed by a series of like 6 likes on his comment....

And all I did was offer a guy wheels for $30 lmao

Seen it time and time again on farcebook. There sure are some judgemental, immature and prissy little trust-fund twats out there on a few of the farcebook groups who are perfectly happy to opine on what you should be driving. No concept that we aren't looking to build a mall-crawler, chances of serious off-roading being slim to nil unless we are run off the road, blah blah blah.. seriously disappointed (I know i am significantly older than the avg Tacoma owner, but still) in the maturity levels of the frequently encountered Tacoma owner, who is seemingly beaking-off from their parents basement, and thinks that condescension and derision is acceptable behavior.

Literally they see us rolling, they be hating. Hate away. Don't care.

 

There's more people just cause I don't post much I still look . In fact when I go to this site this is the first forum I go to first to see what's new. There much love here for the under appreciated 5lug. Here is a pic of a camping trip few weeks ago.

 

I've never understood the hate for you 5 lug guys. Hell I enjoy seeing what you guys come up with, beings though you don't have a lot to begin with due to what Toyota did with those trucks. So keep on trucking fellas!

Right?? Mob mentality, brotha. If your rig is not 4WD with armor, 25 inch lift, jumbo jet tires, they will shit on you. They assume if you have a Tacoma, you have to go off-roading with it. I use mine as daily driver to work, haul fishing and hunting gear, and occasionally helping a friend move some boxes, but it seems like a lot of people don't understand that concept. Oh whale

 

Ill tell you one thing I'd rather load and unload a 5 lug any day compared to ridiculously lifted 6 lug. At my work when we load toolboxes and other rather heavy items with a fork lift into a lifted truck we laugh because we have no idea how its coming out. Also five lugs are designed to handle better on the road which is great for me since most of my driving is commuting to school/work. I have taken my truck on a few trails and was surprised on how capable it was with some good tires but that's not the purpose of the truck to begin with lol.

 

.. and back to topic.. screw you, Tacoma Elitists.. the 5-lug is great for getting to work, and putting in work. First nice day of spring here, vacation next week and some parts to install in that free time.
