Gone over the Top for a 5-lug..
I too considered selling my stock wheels, or even giving them away free - rubber is NFG, but the rims themselves still immaculate. I've seen Tacoma 5-lug rims sitting on kijiji for forever, they don't seem to sell. Shelf-space in the garage, is all they are costing me... If i ever put a dual-axle toy-hauler trailer together (it's on the to-do list) they'd come in handy. Just can't bring myself to chucking them.

I can't picture ever actually putting them back on my truck again.. shitty truck, or not.

Those steel oem 5 lug wheels are cement boots but i was lucky to get $125 for them almost a year ago.
The trick is good pics of them clean and saying they will accept tire pressure sensors. Goodluck.

Yeah I guess I should be more active, I constantly check the slug forum and read everything but don't post much.

I'll join in on more so you guys don't feel so alone.

I'm really diggin' that tent, Billy. I've always been fascinated about putting an elevated tent on the bed of your truck. Its so tempting to have something like that.

Haha that tent was not planed last minute thought. I made that rack for work mostly ladders, lumber, and anything cool on garbage day. I wanted to sleep in the bed but I had rearranged my shelve and fridge the weekend before the trip and lost some leg room. So I thought I could put my one man tent up there. It's 40x90. And the rack floor is 48x96. Then there was the how to get in well I had that ladder laying around. So it now has a use. I never used that ladder it's been in my backyard for 15yrs the. Only reason I keep it is cause it was my grandfathers and when he passed I could pick something from his house to have. And that was the only thing that would last . It's aluminum. Besides that . I would rather have a real roof tent like in that pic . More room and stuff. That was the first time I used that truck on a trip. It worked just fine. So you don't need a 6 lug to have fun and do cool stuff. And thanks for the likes.

Thanks man! It's always nice to see someone level headed on these forums, that's rare!

Yeah, I don't understand it either. Aftermarket support for us is very very little. We actually have to get creative with what we do. It's always been funny to me the rhetoric of "Built not Bought"...and yet, 90% of the trucks on here are all bolt on shit, or at most require drilling a few holes, something I could teach my niece to do.

Granted, most everything on my rig is bolt on as well, but I don't run around giving other people shit about it. To each their own, but ultimately leave my truck alone if you don't like it.

Exactly, some of us don't want to ding, scratch, dent, break etc. a truck we just bought for $35,000....I mean no it's not a TON for a car or truck. But most of us don't want to destroy something that cost that much money.

    Ode to Greenie.

You were a awesome truck. We had some good times and great adventures I sold you today and wanted to let you know that I appreciated that for the last 16 years you never let me down....not once. No CEL's, no fail to start, no leaks noises or quirks. You had a strong heart in that little 2.4L, sipping fuel, making an effort over mountain passes and into strong winds without complaint.

Kind of like an old burro being taken to the mines until the knacker comes calling. I feel bad that you will probably be used by a gardener/landscaper going forward. I hope they treat you with the respect that you deserve and provide you with fresh oil when needed-maybe even some premium fuel every once in a while.

So Here is to you and Drive on Greenie, you old 5 lug-you will be missed and not be forgotten.

Mine went into service in March 2011 - 2010 model - yay for frugal shopping. 83,000 km - 58,125 miles as of today. She's but a baby. I use mine for 98% commuting purposes, pretty much.

The truck is on the 15 year plan .. it puts in work until then, or until it blows up or otherwise becomes uneconomically maintainable. 10 years to go - i think she's good for now.

Sorry for the random ass questions, but does anyone know if our trucks come pre-wired for fog lights (2nd Gens) , or is it on a truck by truck basis

I think it might depend on the truck but i wouldn't know. I think some 4x4 are not prewired and have plugs for something else but the fog light switch
