nah dude don’t trip. It’s on them for having an old, misleading stock on their website.

Your build thread is honestly what keeps me sane :D.

I’ve been running around this forum trying to get more information about putting an aftermarket shock tube for a 1st gen 5 lug on my 2nd gen 5 lug as the measurements put the 1st gen shock at 1inch or so longer. Not much to go off of though.

I’d assume that it would be similar to adding length by adding a spacer lift like so many do though? Except instead of a spacer, it’s just more shock tube.

Hesitant to pull the trigger on the QA1’s I keep reading about too due to most people running them to adjust the ride height lower. Anyone adjust it to increase ride height on stock UCA’s??

You may run risk of smacking the upper and the coil. Do you have a spacer already?

Unfortunately there just isn't a market for that vehicle to justify making these parts anymore.

At this point regarding that specific part we would only make a replacement arm (you own our kit and something happened where you needed the arm replaced due to a vehicle accident or something like that). The taquito arms ran some one off stuff compared to our other product lines which dedicated space on shelves, spending time making lower quantity counts, and when ordering parts we had to make smaller runs which increases cost. At a certain point the sales decreased to the point where it didn't make sense to keep making them for new customers. We understand that could be frustrating to people who want this but we hope they understand from a business perspective we can't dump money into a product that just doesn't sell.

IDK and I have nothing in this horse race but I guess Toyota made the same argument about selling manual transmissions and building the five lug trucks so I guess there’s nothing the small guy can do about it but conform...
I guess the niche market is dead but I see this co. still makes Gen.1 stuff in stock length upper control arms and long travel kits and Toyota stop building Gen.1 trucks OVER 16 years ago now, back in 2004...
Now here’s the really funny part guys this co. still selling parts for a Mitsubishi Montero. How many of these do you guys see out on the road and just look at other vehicles this co. still builds parts for...
Again I have nothing in this horse race... :pout: :deadhorse: :anonymous:

Thanks! Sorry for the late response. The wheels are 16" Rota Slipstreams with 235/55/16's. I'm sorry but I don't know any more info than that...I bought em off a guy who had it on his Mitsubishi Evo.

For the front chrome bumper I got it off Craigslist. But for the rear I went through AutoZone. Bought it on the app and free shipping to my front door in Hawaii. Plus if you don't like it you can return it to a store.

When we had the 5 lug kit it wasn't selling.
We still sell plenty of 96-04 UCA's. We have sold more Montero UCA's in the past 6 months than we sold in years of the 5 lug before discontinuing it.
This isn't a conspiracy against 5 lug tacomas, if the market was there we would be making parts for it. When we were making the parts they didn't sell. It doesn't make business sense to try and sell parts when they weren't selling.

a small run of UCAs is the issue. It's not prudent for our business to make these small batch items at the cost of not making items that actually sell. It's off the table unless it's a replacement part at this point. Sorry guys.

I'll likely get flamed for this but...

Why would you build a off-road looking Tacoma by starting with a 2wd version? :burnrubber: Toyota makes a 4wd version! :mudding:
