Sometimes its the cards your delt. Also you can do alot with 2wd and a locker. And 5ugs are wayyyyy cheaper

My previous truck got stolen and burned to the ground. Current 5 lug was the first "reliable" truck I found with under a 100k miles local to me. Needed to buy and drive within a week bc I work a lot. It is what it is, as mentioned above u can still make them crazy with a little $. I'm actually happy I got it, now I can build it how I want it, and as mentioned above u won't find a 6 lug near by for the same price.

Honestly I can totally see someone buying a cheap 5 lug. Change the a340e with an a340f and sas the front. Take fab work but the entry cost for the base vehicle would be cheaper than a 6 lug you would cut all the 4wd stuff off anyways.

Hey lil taco guy, I have a 06 base manual transmission and I’m looking to go with the same setup as yours. Any issues with the gears and how it drives with the bigger tires and wheels?

    Hey
I replaced the whole 3rd member on my truck, I am running 3.73 gears n have LSD
I LOVE how it feels after I re-gear the truck, it is night and day difference :)
It was sluggish before I re-gear, running the size of tires I am running.
If I had to merge onto a street, I had to make sure there was plenty of space before I merged,
because it was slow to accelerate.
Now I can merge no problem and the truck is fun to drive again.
I like the way the truck drives better than a 3rd Gen TRD OFF ROAD :)

I don't have any issues at all

Bought this bare bones 5speed 5lug to replace my 4x4 converted ranger with a broken frame (the taco has proven to be a much better truck). I did some research and realized that takeoff s550 wheels fit perfectly on these trucks.

Anyone know what the towing capacity is for a ext cab 5 lug? I added a Reese trailer hitch and wiring harness but that’s all. Wondered how much I could tow??
