Planning on riding this one till the wheels fall off cause I’m learning that’s about the only thing that’ll break these things.

You Think? Hell the private party high book was $10,250. The values are going crazy in almost all used cars now. When COVID hit the prices skyrocketed. We purchased the truck in October and high book was $8,505 the same book with the same miles was $10,250 when we listed it. We purchased it wrecked hit in the rear and it had a salvage title. I posted photos of it wrecked and being repaired just to show the damage. Didn’t try to hide a thing! The only reason I sold it was I found a 07 w/ 27k and I jumped on it. Then jumped on a red eye flight to NC to get it back home ASAP before the seller changed his mind. I’ve had offers for more than I paid for it already and it’s not for sale! Plus I called a vendor I know and they want to use it for a promo vehicle.

After years of lurking I have Tacoma. Been wanting a five lug for a long time... I picked up some X-Runner wheels a couple years ago in anticipation. A few hours after I picked her up I mounted some 235/55/18 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail.

Looks good! What did you do to lower it? That is pretty much the amount of drop I'm looking for.

The truck seemed to be lower than usual at stock height. I only put 2” blocks in the rear and need bump stops. The stock height of this truck was lower than the 01 2wd. Not sure why.

Interesting. My 98 sits high enough that I really "need" to lower it to make it look better. I like your Starfish wheels, I used to have some on a 92 excab.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yeah man. These are off a 99-04 mustang gt. The hub bore is 70.1 I believe. 17x8 et30. They sit flush with the fenders. I like the cobra wheels you have too. How many miles you got?

For those wondering how 31s fit a stock 5 lug. First picture is at droop, second is ride height

Tested out some 31x10.50 from a buddy the other day. Looks like I might drop down to 30x9.50 for the next set, and massage that back quarter a tad. (Front bumper still needs trimming as well) Rear fit well with no rubbing

More work in progress shots of clearancing. 235s looking wee bit small now, ( I'm still stock ). Think I'll stick with 30x9.50 instead of 31s tho sadly

30s feel nice, they fit without rubbing so far @ stock. It's doable on 1st gen 5 lugs

Looks like I switched directions on my build… Most of my vehicles are lowered (Lexus LS’s) and initially I wanted to do the same on my daily commuter truck. Located at the doorstep of nature and having ground clearance for the first time led me into terrain I’ve never really dabbled with… I was hooked with my first trip and realized that the XRunner rims and 235/55/18 (28.2”) Wildpeak Trails were underwhelming. I downsized rims size to these 17x9 +38 Rays Gramlights 57 Accelerate with Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s 245/65/17 (29.6”) tires to get me up Forest Service Roads. Project Kics R40 lugs reduce unsprung weight even more. It’s sitting at factory height with black boxes still on board. Rubs slightly on full lock compressed. The new wheel set is even a few pounds lighter. All the mods under the hood do help though. The LCE header, AFE mid pipe and Pro Dry filter, TRD air accelerator, HPS intake, and Tooter intake spacer have added significant power to the 2.7. I realize now my 14 year old shocks are tired. So looking forward to some Bilstien’s…

I was hesitant when buying this truck since its a 2wd 4cly, but I took her off road and was shocked at its performance. Obviously it wasn't shredding it up like my buddies trucks were, but I was able to keep up. Heres a pic of her after a days run.
