After 3 years of fatbobs kit, I can honestly say the shocks are on their way out. They are beyond rusted and bottom out extremely easy. I want to lift my 5 lugger more without spending a shit ton of money. Was thinking of getting the front blocks custom made bigger and another leaf or 2 in the rear.

IIRC .. if you are wanting additional height in the front - you have to take the Next Great Leap forward - a mid-travel kit. 2.75" is at the limit of adjustability for front end alignment in terms of the standard LCA ... i could be wrong, but i think that's the issue of going any larger for spacer lifts.

Replace your rear shocks with Bilstein's 5100's.. you'll be happy again.

For the rear only, Part No. 24-185073 Front struts need to be 4600's.

People have gone the cheap route, and put on 5100's yanked from a TRD that's been upgraded further from the Bilstein's.

I just noticed that the rear of my truck sits uneven. The passenger side rear sits 1 inch lower than the driver side rear. The distance from the ground to the top of the rear driver wheel well is 35". But on the rear passenger wheel well it is 34". The front of the truck sits level. Does anyone else have this problem?

Does a spacer lift restrict travel in the front end and should you put bigger bump stops?

Can somebody please tell me how stupid my truck would look if I installed the full fat bob kit with stock tires? I believe they are the 215/65r15.

    Stock 5-lug tires are P-rated 215/70R15 Dunlop AT20's.

If you are planning a level-lift using one of the common spacer/add a leaf kits - i strongly suggest that you don't plan doing it around the stock tires. They aren't all that great, and they won't last all that long. You can go up to 235/75R15 on the stock rims.

The question shouldn't be 'will this truck look stupid?' .. it should be 'is there a reason to upgrade the stock suspension?' .. if there is no reason, you can upgrade the tires when they are past their due date, without messing with the suspension. There are trade-offs with messing with the suspension - a level-lift just by itself, will impact your fuel economy by 1-2mpg due to changed aerodynamics/being higher off of the road. It will however, firm your suspension up, and reduce body roll.

My suggestion, plan around your reasons for a level-lift .. and go from there. You are going to need to spend money on it to address weaknesses as they appear - once a level-lift is done, the next weakness will be the tires/rims. (15x6 rims are stock - 235 width is the design limit on them).

Not trying to spend your money for you - but these are the realities of improvements for this base truck, IMHO.

Wait, HackD. 15x6 are the width limits with 235's? I have 235/75r15's, but wanted to get 15x8 wheels

are 235s equivalent to a 31"? Sorry still new to this tire stuff haha.
If so could I fit a 15x10 inch wheel under the stock truck with 31s?

No, 235/75/r15 are not equivalent to 31's. The 235/75/r15 wheel diameter is 28.9 inches

Could I fit a 31 under the wheel well? Or is that pushing it? I am going to lift it eventually. Also would I have to re gear?

You would be able to just make sure you do the black box delete to keep rubbing low and more clearance and regearing it would be useful if you are using it offroad

Got a lot of stuff lol
Hey guys I'm current sitting with stock suspension in the front and just a TRD Bilstein shocks in the back. I found a pair of nice rear shocks locally that I am considering grabbing but I think they may be a little too long.

If I'm understanding this right the TRD Bilsteins are 13.98 in collapsed and 22.94 in extended. The new shocks I'm looking at are 14.75 in collapsed and 24.5 in extended.... is this too long and if so would an aal fix it?
