Not active / reserve, myself, but rather, auxiliary. Joined as a cadet 4 years ago when I was 12, been doin' it ever since. I'll be stayin' in the Civil Air Patrol (and joining the USCG Auxiliary soon) because I just found out I'm PDQ from any and all military service on two medical counts. The USMC was my first choice.

I'm currently workin' out of the San Diego ANGS (147th CBCS, CAANG) - just south of MCAS Miramar.

    I'm Thinking...Oh Yeah...An FJ
It's all in my head at the moment...
Hello, I've been out since '89....of the Air Force that is. Did my 4 years. Woulda, coulda, shoulda stayed in. I was staitoned in Holland, you know...The Netherlands, windmills, redlight districts, dykes....Yeah, That one!

I was an F-15 crewchief. 32tfs. It's no longer around. The Wolfhounds. Only unit that wore the colors of another country (at that time).

Had fun and then came Laughlin AB,DelRio Texas. Well, I grabbed my hat and hit the road. That's where I was going to stay. No moving around back then. Budget cuts and all kinds of belt tightening. T-38's, 3 wheels and two radios. In Holland I had 1 jet, in TX I had 3.

That's it to start. I have 1.7 hours flying time and .12 hours on the stick of the Eagle. 79-0016 "Sweet 16"

    Thanks for starting the thread.

    Chuck

Looking to go in to the Air National Guard unit in Cincinnati (123rd Air Control Squadron) by the end of the year for 2E2X1 or 3C2X1, which ever is open when I go...

Although, I am still having an internal battle on whether I should just go AD... I would love to do it, but I am a little worried about the financials since I make a LOT more in my current job than I would even with the allowances and such.:confused::confused:

Have to pay for this Tacoma somehow.

Both are great. I feel since I had an established family that the Guard was the way to go. Plus, I didn't have to worry about finding a job after 20 years active duty. As a technician, you retire at age 56.

that looks like too much space to be the back of a 130.. I mean you can only fit 60 people in them.. or 6 pallet positions... but if you say so

A little of both is always nice. Of course a little more screw off time is always better.
