Thanks Tricoma for arranging this group buy! I ordered mine a few weeks ago and will have it installed on Monday (12/6). Dave and Tim worked closely with me to make some changes to the basic design that fit more with my style of expedition camping. Based on my input, they broadened the ends of the bumper to cover more of the wheel well/suspension area and added a skid plate beneath the front area to cover the crossbeam and blend the line with the factory skid plate. I also requested a 2" receiver at dead center. Somehow Tim, Kyle, and Matt turned my "wants" into a design. I'm looking forward to seeing it! Photos when I get it home!

That's sick. They can basically customize anything that you want. Since you are in San Diego I say we get together with Soundman1463 and have a photoshoot.

I would call the shop but they it's pretty big and can likely hold a good size winch for our trucks. There are bumpers that seem to have less space fir 9500 and 9000lbs winches pretty easy. This deal ends 12-31 so act fast!!!

Sweet. I would at least call them if you are really interested and see what they would be willing to do. If you feel that Xmas and Bday will get you there maybe you can put a deposit and then more later. Not sure but it's worth a try

Are there any photos of the aux light tabs mentioned earlier? I'm still mulling over options, I'd love to see what those look like.

The fog light holes utilize the PIAA 510 lights.

Aluminess finished up the install of my new bumper under the group buy today. I'm very pleased with the results. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I wanted a few modifications to the standard design and Dave and Tim gave me just what I had in mind. For my style of expedition camping, I didn't need quite the approach angle allowed by the original design so the ends of the bumper were extended down a bit to cover more of the suspension area. The angle was faired into the fender by means of a transition piece so the body and the bumper could still move independently. I also wanted a 2" receiver hitch for a center tow point and a skid plate to bridge the line between my factory skid plates and the new bumper. If all that wasn't enough of a challenge for them, I also wanted to fit a Smittybilt SRC 10 COMP (10,000 lb synthetic line) winch into the bumper! With some great fit-up work by Matt and Kyle, they got it all in there nicely by making a custom mounting plate for the winch solenoid. The fit and finish on the bumper is outstanding and the black powder coat will protect the aluminum well. The attention to detail (I'm sort or a stickler for alignment) was excellent and they went the extra mile to make me happy.

There was some question earlier about how the bumper ends fit with the fender line and I've tried to capture that line in the attached photos. Remember, these photos show a modified bumper, but Aluminess would most likely be willing to work with any customer to make the bumper fit their needs. Overall, I'm very happy with the entire experience and with the bumper/winch/skid plate just installed. Thanks for arranging the group buy Tricoma, and thanks to the guys (and Diane) at Aluminess!

Looks good Michael, as Tri said we all will need to get together and have a photo shoot. My bumper should be done next week and I wil have it installed by the following week. I actually dig the additional skid plate that looks really clean.

Thanks! I'm happy with how it turned out. I completed installation of the winch and PIAA 510 lights (Aluminess will mechanically install them for you but they don't hook up the electrical).

On the Smittybilt SRC 10 COMP winch, the provided power cables were exactly long enough to reach the main battery with enough slack for good routing and proper attachment. I did a quick static pull to about 4K to condition the synthetic line and it loaded onto the spool with no problem.

I was able to do a quick and dirty install on the driving lights by using the 12v from the existing light harness to power the relay for the PIAA 510 lights. The entire installation process consisted of plugging in the lights and inserting one 14 ga wire into the old light's harness plug. A little taping, some tie wraps, and it was done! The lights are controlled by the dash switch the same as the previous fog lights (which means no driving lights with high beams) but I'll go back and clean up (shorten and better route) the wiring later.

There is a mod floating around to allow using the fog lights with the high beams as I recall. For now, the installation is complete and I will be taking it out this weekend to get it dirty :)
