    No you didn't screw anything up, but don't worry about extra materials I have a home depot right down the street from my house. I know exactly what we need to make it work, it's just acouple different bolts and a wing nut or two.

    We need the plate that it came with so we can mount the antenna and ground it through the plate. The only other thing I could think of is get an end big enough for it to fit inbetween a washer and the antenna and run a ground from that??? If you can find the plate that would be better, but we may be able to rig something up.
