I believe he is referring to paint correction, getting any swirls, scratches and imperfections out of the paint before putting a coating or sealant on.

No colour correction or change..!! OK...
OK...so just a good management of the paint prior to going "anal" , like I do with mine...
    Now I understand... Thanx man..!!

Thanks for the info! My truck was smooth as glass. I sealed it up with Meguire's 21, then some Meguire's Gold Class wax to shine it up. Looks amazing. Thanks for the help!

Side note, I used the info in this thread to detail my girlfriend's 2 yo Rav 4, which had been neglected for about 6 months(I broke my foot, she's full time working plus school). Anyhow, it was the first time I'd ever clayed and daaaaaang did it work. Thanks for all the tips guys.

Anyone recommend a good car wash soap? The kind you can go grab from autozone or something. There's so many options out there, it's tough to know what's actually good and what's not

Nothing wrong with buying soap at Autozone, O'Reilly's, or even Walmart.

I'll have to check the auto parts stores when I check to see if any of them around here carry Duragloss products. I have never seen Mother's car wash soap in at the local Walmart. They have the wax I remember seeing it yesterday.

May check and see if they have anything from Griots. Autozone carries some of their products around here

Used this. I'll follow up with a good wax via buffer

Poster asked for good soap. There are better soaps than those at Autozone/Walmart that will have better lubricity to reduce swirls. I would wait and get something from Autogeek since they are probably running a sale with it being Labor Day.

Duragloss is good...I still have a lot of it because I switched to waterless wash with Meguiar's D115. I'm sure there's better as Ace had mentioned...but again if you use a coating/sealant you shouldn't have to buff anymore if you use that and then just a good wash. You should be good with the Meguiar's you have now.

But I agree with Ace that products from an enthusiast webstore where pros and hobbyist buys would be better than Walmart/Autozone.

Well I found out the hard way about 303's lack of water resistance. Treated the bed rail caps and then a few days later had left the outside exposed to a heavy dew. Later after driving to work I see streaks of residue running down my paint where the dew had formed droplets and ran off. Had to wash to remove.

Yep. That sounds about right. 303 has its place just not on the exterior.
