Get some automotive masking tape and tape off the clear film edge. Then use wax of choice.

Don't wax against the clear film OR have the film removed. I personally would have the film removed. I don't like how it looks and things like this happen with it where it collects product.

That is a sealer, not a wax. If the OP wants to wax this doesn't solve the issue.

What is the best way to clean the inside of your windshield. I have tried all of the tricks and simply can't get rid of the foggy look.

How does one remove Perma Plate aka "vinyl guard" or whatever other dealers are calling it. Using warm water and a cloth only made matters worse.

also for detailing period, i just use Chemical Guys products. sometimes if I'm feeling SUPER fancy and wanna get into more expensive product i use AMMO's line.

I'll be honest tho, Chemical guys will make you go NUTS with buying stuff. i ended up buying gallon/ half gallon's of all my favorite products.

if any of you want a list of the MUST HAVE of chemical guys let me know, i can post a list of links for everything

What should I use for the black plastic on the exterior of my TRD Off Road?

    Appreciate your recommendations

It's really hard to beat 303. Just Google it and pick it up on Amazon. Good stuff.

GTechniq C4 coating. Last longer than 303 ever thought about. Plus it won't run on the paint when it rains.

Here is a trick I learned a long time ago that works for me. I use invisible glass for my cleaner. Then when that's done and dry, I use a clean white t-shirt to remove any haze. If I find any I missed when I drive, i just go over it with the shirt.

Try to use one that does not have any fabric softener in it. Will work but not as good. I do all my interior windows this way. Works for me anywsy.

I use a soft bristle toothbrush at an angle to get the residue off. Pretty easy.

An older 'cleaning' lady clued me in years ago on cleaning windows--you can do your own stuff--either ammonia and water or vinegar/water (distilled or purified.) Then wad up old newspaper to wipe...no streaks...
Just doesn't work in heat or hot sun light, unfortionately...

I used the vinegar/water & newspaper combo years ago. It really does work. I don't get the newspaper anymore through.

IMG_2010.jpg So I used Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax after years of using Zymol...very impressed! However, it doesn't leave a haze, so it was a bit difficult to see where I had stopped and started. Great shine, doesn't stain plastic, and if you have leftover white residue, like around the protective film, it takes that right off. Great wax for me.

Hey, I didn't want to hijack the other guy's thread.

I wonder if, before going through the hassle of removing the door handles, if you could use a few foam cones to get behind the handles.

I use Meguiar's cleaner wax to rub the scratches out the service manager left behind my door handles. But then again they were not down to the bare metal.
