What's the best way to remove dried duct tape residue from my 02 DC Pre Runner . the tape is on cloth seats and on the D/seat back ????

Goo gone. Wd40 works good too, but may leave a oily residue on seats.

Not sure about those as I really don't want oily residue or stained seats as my truck has very low mileage

Try in hidden spot 1st. Both shouldn't affect color, but better safe than sorry

So...what do you do if you screwed up and got sealant and wax on the decal? Can anything make it black again?

You need to use microfiber towels and something like simple green and water to gently wipe off the residue.
Some sealers are great though and will not come off easily.
Youll have to take your time not to marr the decal.

Just remove the decals lol. Makes life ten times easier.

Anyone have a clear bra on their truck? Thinking about installing a strip across the leading edge of my hood to about 8” back. Just some protection from rock chips is all I’m looking for.

Does anyone know much about ceramic coatings on wheels?

My cousin builds and sells trucks. He recently purchased some ridiculous hand forged steel wheels that cost like $4k and were chrome plated.
He had someone coat the wheel in a ceramic coating to help protect the chrome from blemishing/scratching when washing.

Anyone know about this and if can be done on any wheel?
This was the first time I had heard of this.

I would assume the ceramic coating he's talking about is the same type of ceramic coating available for application to the paint on vehicles these days. That said, properly applied, it's pretty darn tough and I would think just about perfect for wheels. After all, they take an incredible beating from heat and road debris. The only concern I would have is getting it to actually adhere to chrome plating. Getting just about anything to adhere to chrome plating is pretty tough and takes exacting surface preparation to even have a shot at it. If they did prep the chrome right and got the coating to adhere, I'd say he's in fat city.

He said it was awesome. So slick you can hose em off easy.

But I don’t have chrome wheels... for obvious reasons. It’s 2018 LOL.

Ceramic coated Method #301's , as mentioned the surface of the wheels are very slippery and easy to wipe down now

I am assuming they remove the tires from the wheels to do this?

How much did just the wheels set you back?

Nope they applied the coating with the tire /wheel mounted to the truck
Total cost to ceramic coat the paint and wheels with full detail was $1k

Ceramic coating wheels can be done. Some brands, you can use the same ceramic coating you used on your paint to the wheels, but longevity wise, will not last as long On the wheels due to the hardness of the coating.

But yes, ceramic coatings can be applied to chrome wheels. I apply wheel coatings sometimes to customers vehicles, but I like sealants better for wheels. Some types of finishes I have noticed the wheels look darker (chrome), but it can depend on the coating as well. Just a preference of mine.

I love the look of ceramic coatings, I’m just never going to pay for it on a truck lol.

I would on wheels if they coat the wheel with the tire not mounted and its relatively inexpensive $400 for a set would be OK.
