Any tips on how to remove water spots? I have 2016 taco BBP with some water spots on the hood I tried using a clay bar which helped but I wasn’t able to remove them completely. I have never polished a car before and I’m afraid I’ll end ruining the paint.
    Thanks

I have used Adam's Glass sealant and Optimum's sealant with no issues. I have some Gyeon to try next.

jup the clay barring and thorough cleaning made an absolute difference in the wipers, I also believe that by layering of sealant and a coat of carnuba wax really was the culprit here in my case. although I may go with a water repellent product to give it more repellency and slickness to help more. I was at walmart looking at all the new RAINX products now available they offer a Deep cleaning product for auto exterior glass and detailer spray and spray wax,car wash, wiper washer juice additive or washer juice along with replacement wiper blades, squigees etc. thanx for the help I think I got it worked out.

    +1 on the DA polisher.

The windshield is like any other surface: the key is in the prep-work.

jup I agree treat it as well as the paint, I never paid too much mind to the glass as far as just cleaning with glass cleaner and initial coat of protectorant but it does require at least a thorough clay barring and cleaning then proper protection, ive found out

For a window coating, try Aquapel. I only ever need to use the wipers when it's barely raining or if the truck is under 35mph. Even in a downpour at speed the rain drops just glide over the cab.

Beading is diminished when truck is dusty or dirty but a quick spritz and wipe with the detail spray fixes that.

I just regained appreciation for detailing and maintaining vehicles with quality products.

My last major detail on my truck was April 2017.

This year I moved twice, bought a new home that requires rennovations, and started a new job. Detailing was not on the top 100 priority list.
During that time I took my truck through two autowashes... which I am ashamed to admit...

Today I washed, clayed, and sealed my truck for the first time in 5 months.

It took me over an hour to clay and the same amount of time to clean my wheels.

It makes every difference in the world to keep up with cleaning and keep protective products on the car.

So that’s where you’ve been! Well, it’s good to have you back! And that’s a lot of life changes in a year, so we’ll let the auto-washes slide....but just this once.

Its too many life changes in a year. I highly recommend avoiding that many changes at one time.

My BP and my poor Tacomas paint job have suffered.

And you wanna know what really sucks...
    I probably ruined my grille.

Gotta get bug guts OFF your paint ASAP:

    :annoyed:

@ace96 I think the only fix is 50/50 linseed oil and paint thinner

I looked into AQUAPEL seems like its rated better and lasts longer than RAINX, also just doing the cleaning and clay barring has dramatically improved my wipers performance, I may just use Stoners glass cleaner with Rain repel and just keep the windshield clayed and clean, just doing that was a complete game changer in wiper performance.

I can’t remember if I posted it here or not, but my wife’s Jetta had a massive bird turd on it for almost a month, and the paint is now etched where it used to be.

Yeah its a bummer because that stuff just cannot be removed.

    I know better though.

BUT my front bumper is pretty trashed so eventually I will be buying a new grille and a steel bumper.

Replace the sticker. Tape it off next time before you wax.

Not to your paint job. Especially on a black truck.
