Hi, new to the polishing and sealant scene. Since the inception of this thread, aren't ceramic sealants new? Is there a new top dog ceramic sealant since Klasse and Optimum?

Heading to auto store now, after clay bar...

Jescar Power lock plus ceramic sealant for an all in one if that's what you're looking for.

Any detailers in the Seattle area? Have a new 23 I want to consider PPF’ing or ceramic coating.

Tons of good info in this thread, apologize if this has been asked but I didn’t have time to read 229 pages and had bad luck searching. I’ve got a dewalt cordless random orbital sander. If I clean it up would this work to put down polish? It’s got variable speed, obviously less control and power. Thanks.

I would buy the right tool for the job and leave the sander for sanding. You can pick up 7424 fairly cheap.

Any advice on being able to get this scratch out of my headlamp lens? I CAN feel it with my fingernail, but just barely.

Do these lenses have a uv protective film on them before I breakout the 1500 sandpaper and soap?

Whatever grit sandpaper you use will have to be polished back out. I'm sure they do have some sort of UV protection molded into them, but you could always ceramic coat them after. If it were me I'd probably leave it as is.

Leave it alone. Once you start sanding on headlight it will start to haze quicker as you will remove UV protection.

I think the UV protectant is imbedded in the polycarbonate materials. Not a film. I could be wrong.
It will eventually wear off. I applied a thin X-pel protective film on mine to have a bit of rock chip protection.

I think it's more of a top layer because once they start to get hazy and you clean them up it doesn't take long for them to get yellow again.

Polish them without sanding. Start with less abrasive approach first.

There's only so much UV coating, when it's gone, it's gone.

I really like Cerakote towelettes for stuff like this. Clean the black trim with an all-purpose cleaner, diluted 10:1 or so, and then use the Cerakote.

Only a week. I’m getting months out of it pretty easy. Wonder if they changed the formula?

Bottle is a few years old. I get a month or so on the windshield. I thought I'd try it on the glass shower door and it barely lasted a week. :notsure:

Odd mines a couple of years old. Maybe yours has gone bad. I’m planning to try cerakote next as I don’t feel like the Adams product is anything special.
