Seems like flex is the consensus. Heard good things about it too. Just worried that it might be out of my skill level since it's more powerful. Might go with the flex though. The shop is called Pakshak in sand island. Now to figure out what pads and products to use and if I should compound and polish, or just polish since my truck is a 2013. Thinking about using meguiars m205 for now. Thanks guys.

thats funny I shop at pakshak very often and didnt even know they rented out polishers lol. talk to the guy that works there, show him your ride hes more than helpful.

i got menz sf4500 and the megs 205, if you go megs 205 id use a non cutting pad to start. then top with some blackfire wet diamond sealant, stuff makes black look dripping wet. if u like I can give you some samples so you can try on a small corner of your ride

Thanks man I'll let u know if I need a sample. Yeah seen it on their website about equipment rentals. Hopefully it's true. Thinking about buying a couple LC white pads with the m205 to start. Hopefully that combo gets the results I want. Where'd u buy the m205?. Still looking around for the best prices. Thanks again.

    Ron is always helpful.
    They have the best products.

Yes, they rent their equipment too.
They have that new powerful DA also.
    The Rupes.
I think they rent it also.

Orbital Polishers are strong but not beginner friendly because they will burn paint.
DA's are userfriendly because they will not burn the paint.
Try the new microfiber pads by meguires with a DA like portacables.
It works faster and stronger than regular polishing pads.
Ron at Pakshak will coach you on how to use it.
Best of luck and have fun detailing your toy.

usually when I go in, if you spend a certain amount he throws in a micofiber. I went a few weeks ago and it was a waffle weave he was giving away

Rupes, Flex 3401, and porter cables are all user friendly. I would say try the Rupes or Flex. They work faster than the porter cable. Might take a little bit to master, but will be work it in the end.

Seems like there's a lot of pakshak customers here. Sad to say I haven't been there yet. Haha. Just found out about them a while ago online. Plan on going sometime in march tho. Rent a flex, buy some pads, and m205 then top it off with some collinite. Can't wait.

    ^^^^

I also put on a pair of latex gloves to keep the chemicals off my skin and put on a pair of microfiber gloves over the latex. You will be amazed at how well your fingers can get into the tight spots of an engine bay.

Flex is a nice choice Louie. I have a friend that has one and beats the heck out of it detailing anything.

Do not use a powerball. Get a porter cable. Power balls are meant for chrome/aluminum wheels not paint.
