The microfiber pads have too much cut for wax removal.

I have applied wax using a red pad but have always removed a wax or sealant by hand.

Some detailers use a microfiber bonnet for wax removal. I personally have not used one.

Have a new Tacoma in blue ribbon metallic coming this week and have read that Vroom brand were good clothes and were good for removing wax, and not scratching / swirl marking the clear coat.
If there is another good quality cloth that can be purchased locally I am open for suggestions.
    Thanks

    Kevin:
I did some checking and there were no major knocks on the Varoom towels.

I currently like the Microfiber Jr towels for wax removal and buffing. I have a few supreme towels that are nice as well. They are currently on BOGO. Only the large size is on BOGO. I never purchase any microfiber towels unless they are on some type of decent sale. 50% off is not too bad of a sale.

Where in VA are you located?

I was using 2 supreme 530s for drying, is that ok? Idk if they could really soak it all up good though, any suggestions?

Tom I am located in the Roanoke area of Va. Like I said in my original post the Target store in Roanoke only had microfiber cloths in a different brand, no Vroom brand, was not sure if they were same product. Their website does not show the brand that was at the store.
Will look at the ones you listed and get some ordered, was hoping to get something good locally, thanks again.

The 530 is not the best choice. It is more of a buffing and wax removal towel. I have used and like the guzzler.
Try to buy them on sale to save some cash. You might want to try an Advance Auto or an Auto Zone and see if they carry the Megs towels. Megs makes a really decent towel.

And just one 16x24 would dry my whole truck?

For a waffle weave microfiber towel, the towel referenced seems to be pretty thick. I think you should be ok as I am sure it can absorb. The ones that I used before I bought the master blaster are 26x40 and they are more than enough in size.

Yes. When it gets too much water just ring it out really well and keep going. They seem to work better when moist so I usually start to dry the windows first.

Having just waxed my truck I read somewhere that dishwashing soap will strip it all back off. So being careful not to do that I'm left wondering what soaps don't harm a wax job. What about the soap down at your local DIY car wash, is it wax safe?

I would not trust the soap at any car wash. They are usually very alkaline. Duragloss #901 is the best shampoo that can be had OTC (or anywhere, imo). Many people also like Meg's Gold Class but I don't think it foams, cleans, lubricates, or smells as well as DG901.

Any recommendations on what I can use to get tar off of my truck? And bugs off of the front end? Something that won't hurt the paint

I would use an all purpose cleaner and then clay bar. After you get the paint clean put some Collinite 845 on. You will be able to wipe bugs off during a wash.

Well, I decided to start detailing on the side just not with family and friends and had my first "outside" customer today. he brought over a BMW 650i (this thing is a beast!). Vehicle was in pretty good shape and he was wanting to sell it, so did a full detail with clay, polish, etc.. Overall, I am pretty happy with the results. Thanks to those who I have asked questions with in the past through this forum. Did not know if this was the place to post it, but since I had so many answers found on here, thought i might as well. Much appreciated.

Does it matter which side of the microfiber (long finger or short finger) I use to remove a synthetic liquid wax then buff?
