I got a scratch on the body of my driver side door the other day. I was able to feel the scratch with my finger nail when it happened. I buffed the scratch with a orange hex pad and chemical guys v36 followed with v38 and resealed with jetseal and 50/50 carnauba paste. The scratch can only be seen when you look from certain angles. My question is could this be taken out by a professional detailer/body shop if I was able to get it almost not noticeable by hand polishing and no wet sanding? Also could hand polishing even remove a lot of clear coat? It looks more noticeable in the picture than in person.

    Nate:
You will probably need to wet sand the scratch then buff it out. If you have a yellow pad try that with the more aggressive CG polish first before a wet sand.

Alright so I washed then waxed my truck with meguiars canuba wax about a week ago, it rained like 2 or 3 days later and now I got the shitty water spots on my hood and various spots. Guess my issue is why didn't the water slide off like it should have?
I've never clay barred big red, but I think that's what needs to be done.

Now I was watching YouTube vids on detailing and saw this guys videos from ammo NYC. He details top of the line cars, might have to buy this stuff. He says the solution to keeping the paint fresh and new is adding layers to protect.

old American racing outlaw wheels, how do I bring em back?

Did some research and keep seeing acid or paint striper, doesn't seem save for the tires tho, and the treatment after is unclear.

Are trying to clean up the tires as well?

    How old are the tires?

tires are brand new, the wheels are just like the video beloInsanely easy Cleaning and stripping aluminum rim…: http://youtu.be/uQMLVAkgdEk.

maybe a paint on striper? Simple green don't even touch them.

Personally I wouldn't use paint stripper on wheels. I would get some metal polish. Maybe even a Mother's ball attachment. Polish the wheels up and get a good coat of sealant on them.

First a big Thank You for having the gonads to try this. They look excellent. I also would use Mothers Aluminum polish and a Mothers power ball or power cone. If it was me I would remove the wheel weights and do the entire rim. I would also have the tires rebalanced and have the shop use weights on the inside of the rim. Those are very nice rims and the wheel weights do take away from the beauty.

I haven't tried it yet :p that's not me in the video. I did try a few years ago to polish, and it was turning black and making it worse....I read somewhere that maybe the clear turning black. I'm not sure. if I do try this I'll use the paint on method to not get any on the tires...just wanted to start a discussion here first.

Strip then polish? I posted that video because I have the same wheels, looking about the same. other searche results reveled more of a polished wheel rather than themachined look my wheels have.

I would try the remover in an out of the way area on the rims. Maybe on the inside of the rim rather than the exposed front of the rim.

Might not hurt to try a hand application of Aluminum Polish to see what happens. Using a foam pad to work the cleaner into the rim.

If the wheels was turning black then more than likely those wheels don't have a clear coat on them. Raw metal will cause whatever you polishing with to turn black.

What's the best thing to get rid of the haze on the inside of my windshield? I hit it with a microfiber in a circular motion and it looked clear for less than a day, so I'm guessing I need to use a cleaner of some kind to remove this film?

Also, best way to get rid of road tar off of white paint?

For windows, I like "spray away or spray way" by CRL I think

Road tar-a clay bar or spray, meguiar's or mothers brand locally.

Any good tire cleaner that won't brown tires or hurt my aftermarket wheels paint?
