smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
I've read and watched a lot about the increased strength on using square DOM

And that's how my sliders are done as well

I'm going to try and prevent or avoid slamming/dropping my truck onto anything!
I, also, am a cheap bastard and will get the standard sliders. I've watched the 4x videos and they drop that stuff REALLY hard before it fails.

Maybe, in 4 years when the truck is paid off and not my daily, I'll care less about the abuse and buy DOM sliders. Until then, scratches in the paint and some wear n tear on moving parts is about all I want to happen.

Funny stuff! HITAF does any of us rationalize "saving money" by buying parts for a somewhat expensive truck that we'll take in the woods and pound through swamps? The only way to really SAVE would be to leave the truck in the driveway, or better yet, on the dealers lot. But that's not going to happen, is it?

    this is true...

however, my point was - if you're going to do the upgrade, do it once. do it right, and to the extent you think you'll need/want the FIRST time. otherwise you'll end up spending more in the long run

Depends on what type of pounding you expect to do on it. $100 difference, probably not really a big deal to do it right the first time. When i get around to ordering some, i'll buy the square tubing just to do it right. Until then, I'll wait to throw $400 at this second but I do want to order some.

Hell.... I agree with all of ya! Just that we aren't "saving money"....Maybe spending it wisely....Maybe spending it better than hookers and blow....But that's our choice.

This is my 17th 4wd....I'd LOVE to have 10% of the money I've spent on 'em. But I wouldn't give up any of the fun I've had bouncing off trees and smashing rocks.

We can't take the money, or the truck with us when we part this world.

I too, will probably spend the extra money and get DOM when that time comes. But right now, my wallet and truck payment tells me HREW is just fine.

Can't take it with you, but you damn sure can use all of it you can get your hands on when you get older and your earning potential reaches a peak. Adulting can suck. Right now it's sliders or pay on a doctor bill that is lingering. That may mean finding a bargain deal on sliders.

For the price and quality of 4x, I feel no need to look elsewhere and pay for the brand name fanboy shit.

Awesome. I may have to look into that.

The website doesn't show that as an offering. For me at least

There was only 1 result for a ACLB Taco, and they cost over $1k. I closed the browser tab.
